The answer to watching files via USB on a TV - The Toshiba SD-290
Advantages: USB port Disadvantages: Remote is a little small
...a search i found the Toshiba SD-290.
It is a neat compact unit but still stylish at the same time.
Setup could not be easier just plug in the power and scart and done. The remote is a bit small and therefore there is a habit of hitting the wrong button by accident.
DVD playback is excellent on all formats and it does not take ages to identify the format you have loaded.
The key for me though is the USB port, just plug in your USB memory stick ...

Plays any disc
Advantages: With multi-region feature Disadvantages: None
Philips DVP3310 When my old DVD player died, I wanted an immediate replacement for it since there are DVDs that I really love to watch over and over like Titanic, Somewhere in Time and Face-Off. My toddler also loves to watch ‘Tom and Jerry Show’ almost every morning. I’m not really that keen on DVD player’s technicalities so I really didn’t know what to look for in a DVD player. I was just used to plug, play and watch on my old DVD player. ... ...former player. Somebody told me that I needed to get a multi-region DVD player that plays all kinds of discs. I started my internet search on a multi-region DVD player and I ended up ordering Phillips DVP3310 and paid £45 for it. The delivery was quick. I ordered it Monday and it arrived Thursday morning. In the box *Phillips DVP3310 DVD player *2 x AAA Batteries *Remote Control *Warranty Leaflet *User Manual First try The first time ...

The Sony DVP-PR30 Is My Little Black Box
Advantages: Neat, Stylish and Performs Well. Disadvantages: Quite basic but it works well.
Sony Persona DVP-PR30 is a Compact DVD Player in black. It is a neat little DVD Player with excellent performance, it has a Precision Drive 3 Mechanism for fast, stable and accurate playback. The playback has always been clear audibly and swift. There are many features to the Sony Persona DVP-PR30 including; Playback of DVD-RW/-R /-R DL (VR mode w/o CPRM), Playback of JPEG, mp3, Audio CD-R/RW, Super VCD discs, DivX Playback and Fast / Slow Playback ... ...just 2.3 Kg. The Sony Persona DVP-PR30 was released in 2008 and is still relatively new to the market.
Initially I bought this for my bedroom to work alongside my new wide-screen television set. It is lightweight but well made so the remote is easy to use with my TV. I loved the way it was so neat and compact it takes up hardly any room. This is ideal for a bedroom or smaller sized room and if you haven't got much space then this is a fantastic ...

WOW!! The best upscaling DVD player bar non!!!!
Advantages: Good quality dvd's like HD Disadvantages: None
...have recently purchased the new Toshiba 42ZV555DB LCD TV which upscales SD signals to near HD quality. I was a bit sceptical but the difference is unbelievable. The pictures are so sharp. High quality bitrate signals like the BBC news look like the presenter is 3D!! That's on normal Freeview aswell!!
As I am always lookin for the best picture possible I thought I would give Toshiba's new XDE 500 DVD player a go, as the new TV lived up to claims. ... ...on them too. I am going to get a copy of Meet The Robinsons on DVD and compare it to my Bluray copy as that is the benchmark on Bluray in my opinion.
Anyway thatis my opinion on the Toshiba XDE500 dvd player. £97 well spent at John Lewis. ...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small ... ...the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player and all accessories were in pristine condition, a testament to the quality packaging. The user manuals were easy to understand in quick set-up mode, so for a novice user there will be no issues. This player however does have a lot of functions which can seem daunting at the time so if you do not understand ...
