Top notch DVD player
Review of Philips DVD 728 by thespurs

Advantages: Looks fantastic
Disadvantages: None

...we (my family) have a Philips television and am very loyal to the brand. We purchased this DVD player a fews days after the television, because we very pleased with what Philips have to offer. We bagged this superb DVD player for around £80. There wasn't any real competition that would sway our decision of purchasing this particular product. We had a look at a few cheaper, budget, DVD players but they looked too cheap and nasty. The fact that the ...
...a very reliable product and Philips are a very reliable electronics company. It won't break the bank, so I am sure many people will be able to afford the £80 price tag as I have already mentioned. If you do go out and buy this, please let me know what you think of it. I would give this a 9/10 for an all round performance. Thanks for reading! ... Read review

DVD Player that will make you happy...
Review of Denon DVD-1740 by Mr.Freeman

Advantages: Simple to use, great playback
Disadvantages: Doesn't have many other features

The Denon is a relatively cheawp product that allows seamless and flowing DVD playback. It has supervideo playback system and an integrated user interface that allows users to easily navigate the device without using the remote control (if needed). The device may not be that well known, but the Denon range have been an active supplier in providing adequate products at a reasonable price. The Dolby AC3 sound system is a great beginner software tool ...
...options. However note that if you are a more experienced DVD Player user, this device is not the one for you. The price is by far the best advantage and in terms of attractiveness, the Denon is quite basic in design. Overall though, a great product for a first buyer! ... Read review

Award winning DVD player
Review of Denon DVD-1940 by sadoldbag

Advantages: Fantastic picture quality, fantastic audio quality, great value
Disadvantages: not exactly cheap, a bit chunky looking

I've just bought one of these. Oooh it's good. Really good. Here's why. It's a dead cool DVD player which is ideal if you have an HD ready telly and want to really enjoy your DVDs to the full. It has Dolby sound so is great if you hook it up to separate speakers, but pretty good if you don't, too. It comes in silver (well aluminium) or black, and compared to some DVD players it is quite chunky - about the thickness of a video recorder. I don't ...
...quality is awesome. Really sharp. It has 1080 upscaling, which means it is fully HD compatible, and a detachable mains lead, which I couldn't see the point of until More Technically Minded Hubby (MTMH) explained that this is a Good Thing as it allows you to upgrade the cable and get even better quality. Until buying this, I thought it was only worth paying thirty quid for a DVD player, but now I understand that you get what you pay for and this ... Read review
