I purchased a Alba DVD62XI from Argos about a year ago as I wanted a cheap DVD player than played recorded DVDs. This is the cheapest I could find (based on other reviews that it played copied discs). The DVD player worked fine for about 3 or 4 months before I started having issues. In conclusion - If you are looking for a cheap DVD player that plays recorded discs, spend a little bit more. I recenty gave up the fight to resist investing in new technology and bought a DVD player. It worked fine and was easy to operate. It even played DVD's from other regions, once I found a code on the internet to unlock it. However, after watching three DVD's it refused to play the fourth.
