Bush DVD2041 - A good Thing to Have!!
Review of Bush DVD2041 by KEPP

Advantages: Nice Lights and Clear Picture!
Disadvantages: No LED display patch!

...found what I wanted the Bush DVD2041! It had the features that I was after and the price was reasonable. What it plays: -Region 2 DVD’s -CD-R’s -CD-RW’s -Normal CD’s -JPEG Disks UK DVD’s tend to be Region 2. All normal audio CD’s, CD-RW’s and CD-R’s are compatible. A JPEG disk is a disk, which has photos on, this DVD player will plays these photos automatically when the disk is inserted in the form of a slide-show. One good feature on this ...
...the pictures; it has 11 built in transactions. What it comes with: -DVD Player -Remote Control -Scart Cable -User Guide -2 AAA batteries (for the remote) The Scart cable is the best way to connect a DVD player to the TV, as it gives the best audio and visual output, Scart cables are around £4.99 (cheapest I saw from Argos.co.uk). When a DVD player is connected via the Scart cable, when you turn it on, the TV will automatically go to its AV ... Read review

Good basic family DVD player but nothing special
Review of Bush DVD2042 by drifter_2000

Advantages: Simple and compact. Easy for all the family to use
Disadvantages: Not as durable as some models. No disc memory.

...for £29.99 last time I checked. In short, the Bush 2042 is good for the basics of a DVD player but if you're after anything more sophisticated it's probably better to look elsewhere. I also wouldn't describe it as a budget model, as the Yamada unit is better value. ... Read review

Basic and perfect
Review of Philips DVP 5960 by MSmith79

Advantages: Plays DVD's well. Nice design. HDMI. DVD Upscaling
Disadvantages: Wide design. Might not fit in standard TV cabinet

After my old, expensive, DVD player decided to die on me I decided to purchase this model as a replacement. I was looking for a basic DVD player, and this is exactly that. Now, I dont meen basic as in not very good, I mean basic as in it is easy to use, and it plays DVDs. Exactly what I was looking for. I love it. As an added bonus it has a USB port on the front of it. So, if you want to listen to your music files through your TV system you only ... Read review

Multi region?
Review of Sony DVP-NS 36 by k8_web

Advantages: divx compatible + multi region
Disadvantages: had to do a bit of research to enable full multi region ability

I've been looking for a divx player for a while now, and wanted one with multi region capability also. I eventually bought this dvd player from amazon.co.uk, as it was clearly labelled 'multi region'. Reading the reviews on amazon, some said it was multi region straight out of the box. For me, when putting any other region dvd other than 2, it played in black and white. After a bit of research, and thinking I'd have to fork out more money to get ...
...is multi region, but my tv was not understanding the video format of the region 1 disc. A simple solution I discovered is simply to change the colour settings on the dvd menu (when there is no disc in it) to RGB. Having achieved this, I am now a very happy customer! All region discs now play in full colour, as do divx formats, CD-RW etc. On top of the function, the box is a sleek looking player. Very slim and very pretty. Furthermore I got it for ... hd-dvd get one while you can !!!!
Review of Toshiba HD-E 1 by colin_bradbury

Advantages: as good as blu-ray , extreamly cheap , bargins to be had everywhere
Disadvantages: no longer supported format

..., with the announcement that Toshiba is to withdraw from the hd race for the next format it leaves hd-dvd players in a very poor position in the market place , however do not let this put you off , there is already a great library off hd-dvd discs out there and as there is no region coding on the discs ,this means you can order via eBay direct from use for even more titles , of course the likelihood of new movies coming out on this format are very ...
...and the latest firmware via Toshiba brings it right unto date with picture and sound , if your savvy you can get one of these and a collection of discs for a fraction of the price of a blu-ray player and start enjoying high definition discs , the money you save get be put to one side to but a blu-ray / ps3 when they inevitably come down in price later this year ...
