Cambridge Audio DVD player with HDMI
Review of Cambridge Audio DVD 86 by sjhill

Advantages: HDMI Out, DIVX support, mp3 support
Disadvantages: Too many buttons on the remote! Slow eject button response.

...reasonably priced DVD player from Cambridge Audio retails for approx £150. For a DVD player with HDMI (Digital) out, that is one of the more reasonable priced models on the market at the moment. The player will take a moment to recognise disks, but once it has found which format the disk is, I have found playback to be flawless. It can play normal DVDs (PAL), also DVDs from the USA (NTSC) and DIVX encoded video. Although I have not tried it, it ...
...a fairly standard design from Cambridge Audio. I am afraid I find that there are too many buttons too close together on it. That makes finding play, pause, and so on tricky when you are in the middle of watching a film... These flaws aside, I still think this is well worth the £150 I paid for it, and would still recommend it to others. ... Read review

Nicely done, Cambridge Audio.
Review of Cambridge Audio AZUR 540D by NomisG

Advantages: Great playback of CD as well as DVD
Disadvantages: None that come to mind.

...subwoofers... End Tangent! The Cambridge Audio Azure 540D is a very capable player. It has all the connectivity you are likely to need other than HDMI (I'm on a bit of a downer on HDMI at the moment, so I don't see that as an ommission) but including a very good downmixed stereo sound out (Jargon decode - it makes surround sound encoded music DVD's sound nice ;-) ). In summary, I would buy one without hesitation (but unfortunately didn't because ... Read review

QUALITY DVD PLAYER FOR UNDER £100
Review of Cambridge Audio DVD57 by iiyama1000

Advantages: PLAYS AUDIO CD'S AND DVD'S
Disadvantages: NONE

...about my experiences with the Cambridge audio DVD 57.This machine is very well equipped and competitively priced, currently at only £99.95 from richer sounds. To my knowledge, it is not available elsewhere as richer sounds are the sole retailer of Cambridge audio products. That in itself is not a problem, as richer sounds have shops in most major towns throughout the U.K. FEATURES: This machine comes with progressive scan, a feature ...
...this low. Basically, if you own a TV, plasma screen or LCD with component video inputs, then progressive scan will give you a much clearer picture with much less flicker than normal. All you need are a set of leads for component video, which your dealer can supply, connect them from your DVD player to your inputs and that’s it, job done! Another feature of this player is that it also plays music CD’S with great effect, something that is ... Read review

Multi region?
Review of Sony DVP-NS 36 by k8_web

Advantages: divx compatible + multi region
Disadvantages: had to do a bit of research to enable full multi region ability

I've been looking for a divx player for a while now, and wanted one with multi region capability also. I eventually bought this dvd player from amazon.co.uk, as it was clearly labelled 'multi region'. Reading the reviews on amazon, some said it was multi region straight out of the box. For me, when putting any other region dvd other than 2, it played in black and white. After a bit of research, and thinking I'd have to fork out more money to get ...
...is multi region, but my tv was not understanding the video format of the region 1 disc. A simple solution I discovered is simply to change the colour settings on the dvd menu (when there is no disc in it) to RGB. Having achieved this, I am now a very happy customer! All region discs now play in full colour, as do divx formats, CD-RW etc. On top of the function, the box is a sleek looking player. Very slim and very pretty. Furthermore I got it for ... hd-dvd get one while you can !!!!
Review of Toshiba HD-E 1 by colin_bradbury

Advantages: as good as blu-ray , extreamly cheap , bargins to be had everywhere
Disadvantages: no longer supported format

..., with the announcement that Toshiba is to withdraw from the hd race for the next format it leaves hd-dvd players in a very poor position in the market place , however do not let this put you off , there is already a great library off hd-dvd discs out there and as there is no region coding on the discs ,this means you can order via eBay direct from use for even more titles , of course the likelihood of new movies coming out on this format are very ...
...and the latest firmware via Toshiba brings it right unto date with picture and sound , if your savvy you can get one of these and a collection of discs for a fraction of the price of a blu-ray player and start enjoying high definition discs , the money you save get be put to one side to but a blu-ray / ps3 when they inevitably come down in price later this year ...
