Denons mid-ranged upscaled goodness

Advantages: excellent upscaling, wealth of play back features
Disadvantages: feels cheap

...other reason. I bought this Denon 1930 a couple of years ago, before Blu Ray took a foot hold and before I ordered my PS3. I have got a reasonably large DVD collection and I wanted something good that could do the old discs justice. Denon have a certain way with these things. The aptly named Denon DVD 1930 is now discontinued. Like other Denon products it was one in a line of DVD players in its range, it was followed by the 1940 but now seems to ...
...still a shining example. The Denon range goes up into the 3000 series and then the flagship DVD-A1UD which would set you back the princely sum of £4,500! It looks like it would play EVERYTHING though. The 1930 is a good example of an upscaling DVD player. I Saw The Warm Rich Tones of Kylie's Cheeks

Advantages: Excellent picture and sound
Disadvantages: Bulky and heavy

... Looks and Set-Up The Denon 2800 MKII is an impressive unit that seems solidly constructed and comes in either a black or gold champagne casing that features a 15mm-thick aluminium extruded front panel. There is none of the cheap looking plastic casing that you get with a lot of the cheaper DVD players on the market nowadays. Instead what you have is a quality looking high grade piece of technology. Perhaps a bit on the bulky side but for me ...
...machine to your TV. The Denon is supplied with a sleek well designed remote control that for the most part is ergonomically friendly with buttons clearly differentiated by shape and colour. Image Quality This player makes use of a Silicon Image DVDO PureProgressiveTM SiI504 Decoding Engine. You have the option to adjust tint, brightness, contrast, sharpness and gamma as well as switching between two black levels, but if you make a mes of ...

Cheap but very cheerful

Advantages: Looks great, Plays MP3's well, Great sound
Disadvantages: Noisy DVD draw, poor remote

...recently developed a liking for Denon products, and the opportunity to get hold of one of their DVD players at a reasonable price was too good to miss! This has all the usual features including MP3, DTS, Dolby Digital and some extras including Progressive scan. Clever features include a 2MB buffer memory which reduced the effect of layer change. The Audio playback is excellent as you would expect. Denon made their reputation on audio and they live ...
...also very good, but the S-Video performance could be better. For the money this is a superb buy and if your lucky enough to find one, grab it while you can. I paid £100 for this brand new off an Ebay retailer. Compare this to other DVD players for the same price and you will see the difference ...
