Cheap and Cheerful
Advantages: Slim, Cheap, Multi-regional plays DVD-r's
Disadvantages: Not loads of features, not the best looking
After Umming and Arghing (if there is such a thing!) for months about purchasing a DVD player and moving up the ranks of Audio/Visual technology I decided to punish myself and wait for Christmas. Basically let somebody else buy one for me!!

Multi-Region player from the High Street
Advantages: Excellent Value For Money
Disadvantages: The flutter sound of the disc spinning can be heard over quite parts
This is an excellent entry level machine, which basically means for less than £100 you get top quality picture/sound with a couple of features, not loads that you never use.

More than a DVD Player!
Advantages: Plays all types of Data Disc's
Disadvantages: Slow Response time to Commands
The Samsung DVD-224 will not only play your DVD's & SVCD but it will also play KVCD & SKVCD, and not too many players on the market do that!

Advantages: Is more than just a DVD player
Disadvantages: Poor respone times
The Samsung DVD-224 performs many other functions such as playing DVD's & VCD’s, CD’s and will also allow you to view JPEG images as well on your TV screen. but it will also play KVCD & SKVCD, and not too many players on the market do that!

Excellent Upscaling DIVx Player
Advantages: Upscaled DVDs look beautiful on Samsung TVs. DIVx playback is great.
Disadvantages: Slightly Slow to Startup. Remote control has no volume buttons for controlling Samsung TVs.
