...Prominence is given to the Marantz trademark, and a host of logos depicting which video and audio standards the unit supports. If I had one visual change to suggest - it would be to do away with the mock aluminium feet which show just under the front of the unit - very 1990's, and serving no function! I was looking for a dedicated dvd player with no frills and that is exaclty what i got with the DV7010. These are hard to get hold of now as they have been discontinued, but I got mine from a specialist HIFI shop where they had the last one on special offer. The build quality is excellent, and the disc load and seek times are very fast compared to those on my parents Sony DVD player. The on-screen menus are user freindly and can be used to change ...
...I bought the gold version (it was also made in black) and I think it looks great as well. Picture quality is fantastic and although it's hard to explain exactly why it is better than other DVD players I've used, but it just is. The sound quality is also out of the top drawer, in fact I'd say it's better than my stand alone Technics CD player in my stereo system. ..., with the announcement that Toshiba is to withdraw from the hd race for the next format it leaves hd-dvd players in a very poor position in the market place , however do not let this put you off , there is already a great library off hd-dvd discs out there and as there is no region coding on the discs ,this means you can order via eBay direct from use for even more titles , of course the likelihood of new movies coming out on this format are very ...
...and the latest firmware via Toshiba brings it right unto date with picture and sound , if your savvy you can get one of these and a collection of discs for a fraction of the price of a blu-ray player and start enjoying high definition discs , the money you save get be put to one side to but a blu-ray / ps3 when they inevitably come down in price later this year ... ...One HDMI cable is so nice as well. DVDs look great on my 42"" 1080i LCD tv. But setup menu is REALLY slow to respond.
