I saw and so I had to buy... re-edited
Advantages: high HDMI, Compatibility, design Disadvantages: Picture quality could be more resolute
...I got drawn towards the Pioneer DV-490V-K, as soon as the sales assistant saw I had a mild interest she homed in on me and from that point I knew I didn't have a chance. I ended up buying the DVD player for £159.99.
There are some technical terms I want to explain to you now because I may use them in the item's description.
UPCONVERSION; now this is when a smaller resolution signal, that comes from the in-put cable, is transferred into a television; ... ...produced from the HDMI, the Pioneer DV-490V-K manufacturers promised that its Upconversion technology would provide its purchasers with incredible picture resolution (especially on High definition Televisions). I am really unsatisfied with this aspect of the DV-490V-K.
I am pleased with the number of features available on the DVD player, and when comparing expenses the Pioneer DV-490V-K would appear to be the most extensive in its price range. VALUE ...

Pioneer DV-545 DVD Player
Advantages: Very slim design. Easy user interface and navigation. DTS output. 2 Scart Sockets. Plays CDR, DVDR, MP3 etc, etc. Disadvantages: Remote control unit is bulky and not designed for this product.
This DVD Player is the bees knees. It will play just about anything. The sound and picture quality are excellent. The user interface and navigation through the menu and submenu's is childs play.
The unit is very slim, allowing it to fit into my existing Tv base unit ontop of my VCR. In addition to the DTS optical output it has 2 VCR sockets, which ensure easy integration into your existing Tv, VIDEO and SAT reciever setup.
I am impressed with the ... ...you a bit of electricity.
The only poor part of this superb unit is the remote control. It is a bulky black plastic cheap looking remote which does not suit the slim silver stylish DVD Player.
The documentation supplied with this unit is clear and concise, but the user interface is so easy you won't need to read the manual.
I would have to rate this product 9.9/10. ...

Music to my eyes
Advantages: Superb picture, shines with audio too Disadvantages: Looks flimsy, feels flimsy, nasty remote
...amazing when played through this Pioneer deck. A deck which supports MP3, CD, CD-RW, CD-ROM, DVD-RW, SVCD and JPEG encoded picture files. Should you be lacking an AV Receiver, do not worry as the 565 comes with it's own DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder. If you do have a AV Receiver then take the chance to use the same 6 channel speaker analogue outputs to listen to full bandwidth, zero compression sound with added muscle from your amp. I was startled ... ...think what the top end Pioneer decks are capable of. The 565 is classified as middle ground for the DVD market and the features and set ups of the machine are guaranteed to overwhelm an entry level buyer. It has menus galore and infinite ways to set up your machine. It allows you at the most basic level to set your TV screen ratio up, adjust brightness, contrast, etc, and at the other end of the spectrum you can tell it speaker position, how you ...

Small is Beautiful
Advantages: Great vaule for money, picture quality is good, Slimness makes it easier to get your hands round the back, Disadvantages: Controls are not always responsive
...recently purchased the DV-444 from Pioneer and it has a slimline aluminium overcoat that almost warrants a motherly wiggle of the cheek. I measured it and it’s only 55mm tall and shop assistant told me, its currently making it one of the thinnest DVD players on the shelves, although it would probably be hidden behind an equally good looking price tag. Standard DVD players these days are becoming increasingly cheaper.
The on-screen navigator is a ... ...menu system is a little basic and the controls aren’t always responsive to my requests. This doesn’t mean that things took too long to get my choices installed, as there are very few features to play with, but all the basic picture and audio fine-tuning facilities to get the best from my discs are on-hand.
There are a few extra touches, though. The ‘last memory’ facility stores a particular time frame on a DVD, so that even if I decided to eject ...

Get the most from your money
Advantages: Excellent quality for a great price Disadvantages: Nothing for a lower budget player
This DVD player is an excellent buy for anyone wanting a good quality DVD player at a very reasonable price.
The price of this player can vary greatly but it is availble for purchase online from www.techtronics.com for £169 plus p+p - coming to a grand total of around £190.
It is a silver player with that is reasonable in size and relatively light in weight. It has a nice front display where mode and functions are displayed clearly. The instruction ... ...only a couple of minutes to setup with a scart lead and a very user-friendly on screen menu-setup system.
The remote control is easy to use and relatively uncluttered and a very good size - batteries are included.
The machine is very quiet which was surprising because most lower-budget DVD players are often quite noisy when they are playing making whirring and vibrating noises.
As for picture quality it is superb and I have never had a DVD jump ...
