A great value DVD player! - The proline DVD1100
Advantages: Easy to install and use Disadvantages: Lack brand name.
I really cannot fault this product, its cheap (I got it for £29.99), its easy to install and use and it comes with a clear and concise manual. Unless you are bothered about brand names then there really is no reason to buy a more expensive DVD player. It looks great with its shiny silver finish and black button panels and the picture quality is superb thanks to the players ability to convert MPEG2 8-bit resolution to a higher bit rate to reduce the ... ...has an audio sampling rate of 24bit/96 KHz and a function called "Virtual surround sound" which can simulate the surround sound effect through a standard stereo TV without the need for rear speakers. All my DVDs play very smoothly on it with no stuttering and it even managed to play one of my old scratched DVDs that my older, more expensive DVD player couldn't. The remote control is simple to use and logical and has all the needed controls to navigate ...

pretty average dvd player for a pretty average guy
Advantages: good matt black colour and good remote response Disadvantages: just a run of the mill player
When I first saw this DVD player I thought that it was rather stylish looking, as it was completely black, with a matt finish, meaning that there will not be as many annoying fingerprints that cover it through average daily use. It comes as a similar set up to all major DVD players on the market today, with the DVD tray on the left and some basic control buttons on the right of the front of the player. The player itself is of average size in comparison ... ...width 26.0cm. The player itself is capable of playing a wide range of discs including all types of DVD; DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW. As with most modern DVD players it comes with JPEG image playback which enables you to view JPEG photo images from CD’s. Again as with most modern DVD players it allows music CD playback ranging from VCD (video CD) to CD-R and CD-RW which have mp3’s stored on them. Nothing really different here to any average DVD ...

Proline 1050
Advantages: Cheap, does exactly what it says on the box! Disadvantages: Only region 2
The dvd player is a must for anyone, and at £27 pounds its a must (I had discount so for others it may still be £30). unfortunately it only plays region 2, but can play cd's mp3 and can also show photos if you have them on cd format. The picture quality is excellent, and the player can be used with or without the remote, so if like me your always losing remote controls you dont need to panic.
I first purchased this dvd from comet, the first purchase ...

Better Available Elsewhere Cheaper 2003
Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Does not play CD-R
The Proline Multi Region DVD 2000 was my second buy.
It cost about £100 in August 2001 from Comet. Of course I was asked to buy an additional guarantee that cost half as much as the player, so obviously declined. My first machine was bought from Asda, though I can't remember the name, this soon went back within one week for a cash refund, it was incapable of playing dual layered discs.
Initially I was quite pleased with the Proline, this played ... ...switches layers. Obviously for a cheap model it is quite satifactory, but these days October 2003- you can get the same quality for around £60. The player will play pre-recorded factory CD music. But will not play CD-R's made on your computer, therefore MP3's or converted music albums cannot be played in CD-R format. An unusual quirk was that it would play some converted music files from CD-RW that I had made purely to test it out.
The instruction ...

Pro is right: Professional look
Advantages: Size, Looks, Current Cost, Easy to use Disadvantages: Remote control
We got the Proline dvd2500 about a year ago as a gift from a family member; I believe that they paid about £145.00 for the DVD player. They bought it from Comet Looks: (front)
The proline dvd2500 looks great as it is very slim and light. It's silver in colour and fits in well to the cabinet underneath all the other things we have there. There a few buttons on the front of the dvd player which I think spoil the look slightly as I feel that if there ... ...you will be shown the proline symbol on your TV. When you freeze the scene the quality is super, You can see so much details in this mode. Don't panic if the dvd player has stopped all you need to do is hit the play button and the dvd player will start from where you left off. The only time that the dvd player will not start from the scene you left off is if you switch the power off.
