Far from being outstanding! Advantages: Looks good Disadvantages: Just doesn't seem to be that good ...matches the current range of samsung LCD TV's so you can co-ordinate you entertainment system if you currently own a Samsung TV. The remote is a mini version of the TV remote and has all the usual features, and unlike some DVD players now it still has an eject button. The HDMI port allows for upscaling DVD's though it doesn't produce full HD so i wouldn't get it if you want the full HD effect of DVD's. The timer/display is quite small and not very ... ...it actually lights up the area around it. But really this is just nit picking like I said there isn't really anything wrong with it. Really good player Advantages: Really good offer Disadvantages: For my opinion without disadvantages I have got this model 3 months ago. After carrying out of tests (viewing of disks of various manufacturers, and also disks made independently on we wash a personal computer) I have understood, that have made favourable purchase. I was pleased with fast loading of disks, also very silent operating mode, is absolutely not audible as the drive works. At its all pluss also me all has pleased the menu which is clear even to the child, very simply and ... ...look through at connection to the large-format TV. Ideal in my opinion a colour rendition, I speak you as the present repairman of electronic technics - this model will not broken and will arrange everyone. At all this I consider this model cheap, as on parameters an ideal variant for a house cinema. Maligned but very capable DVD player Advantages: Compatability Disadvantages: slightly clumsy remote ...terms). If you connect the Samsung to a standard def TV, the picture is very good and this is the only fair test. I don't see any of the other reviews mention picture calibration. If you want to get the best from your DVD player (any DVD player) you MUST calibrate it and the TV together. It is a fairly lengthy process and many/most people don't know about it. But you will never see your HD TV at its true potential until you do. Back to the Samsung. ... ...good detail. Another thing is the sound. The Samsung has on-board decoders for Dolby and DTS. It will also play SACD and DVD audio as well as regular CD's, of course. And it does all of this very well. I love the player and would not hesitate to recommend it. ...
