I bought this a few months ago to use as a DVD player in my room, so that i didnt have to keep transporting the one from downstairs all the time. ...wondeful. I have taken it round a few friends houses that don't have a DVD player so that we could watch some movies. It is easy to transport, all you need to do is unplug it from the TV and pop it in your pocket. Just joking it's not that small. ...someone else, I tried it with R2 and R1 DVDs, an NTSC VCD, some MP3s off a CD (fantastic on screen track menu control if you want it) and a Kodak picture disc. Superb! Disadvantages: Cannot play PAL in colour eg some extreme sports DVD's or old movies

...also connect it to a Sony stack which would be like your hi-fi or something if you don't have a Sony hi-fi. It is a scart unit also which is good because you do not have to tune it in or anything. (Make sure your TV or other appliance has an AV scart socket, most modern equipment does so you shouldn't have to worry) There is no set up needed, just plug in and your away, the remote even comes with Sony batteries... you cant ask for much more than ...

DESIGN - I think it looks really good, plus it is very thin which means you can fit it into smaller spaces without having to deal with a huge DVD player with all the wires in the world. Having bought the Sony NS300 as a first DVD player, I am generally very pleased with the product. As you would expect, being a Sony it is of a very high quality and is of an attractive sleek design. I have found that some features available on other players, such as a zoom feature are not present, and also it only plays local DVDs, and not CD-Rs. Over this period I have averaged approximately £100 per player prior to purchasing the DVP-NS 30 and have never had as many features at my fingertips. Regardless of your budget, this product should be your first option should you wish to purchase a DVD player.
