Cheap And Cheerfull! A Great DVD Player!
Review of Philips DVP 3120 by Craigshadow12

Advantages: Low cost,Will play all the main formats,Fairly good quality.
Disadvantages: Altough its good its not good enough to be homes main DVD player.

...I had never owned a Philips DVD player before this purchase but was assured by many people that their DVD players were always in top form. This product is possibly the cheapest DVD players I have ever bought but must say that I found that for its price and what I use it for it was a great buy. Another reason I decided to buy this DVD player over the many other options that were available to me was because this DVD player is small and slim and is ...
...1. Turn on the Philips DVP3120. 2. Open the disk tray. 3. Press the "Setup" button on your remote. 4. Go to the "Preferences" page by pressing the right arrow key twice. 5. Enter these numbers - 138931. 6. You will now see the current region code for your DVD player. 7. Use the Up/Down arrow keys and select the region you require or simply press "0" for all regions. 8. Press the "Play" button to play your DVD. I found this feature very useful ... Read review

Get the most from your money
Review of Pioneer DV 530 by neiltom88

Advantages: Excellent quality for a great price
Disadvantages: Nothing for a lower budget player

This DVD player is an excellent buy for anyone wanting a good quality DVD player at a very reasonable price. The price of this player can vary greatly but it is availble for purchase online from www.techtronics.com for £169 plus p+p - coming to a grand total of around £190. It is a silver player with that is reasonable in size and relatively light in weight. It has a nice front display where mode and functions are displayed clearly. The instruction ...
...only a couple of minutes to setup with a scart lead and a very user-friendly on screen menu-setup system. The remote control is easy to use and relatively uncluttered and a very good size - batteries are included. The machine is very quiet which was surprising because most lower-budget DVD players are often quite noisy when they are playing making whirring and vibrating noises. As for picture quality it is superb and I have never had a DVD jump ... Read review

DVDs, DIVX, and looks fantastic.
Review of Bush DVD 2054 by techno_man_37

Advantages: DVDs, DIVX, and looks fantastic.
Disadvantages: none

Before I bought this DVD player Id never really owned a DVD player before. I had however had and still do have a ps2 on which I used to play my DVDs. I never really went and still don’t go on this so much so I was going to sell it and buy a DVD player. In the end I decided to just keep the ps2 and to get a cheaper DVD player than I was looking for in the first place. The main reason why I wanted a new DVD instead of the one in the ps2 was ...
...DVD player in a ps2 doesn’t recognise this format and scene as I have several divx movies already on disk and on my laptop to put onto disk then I wanted a DVD player that would recognise and play this format. Another plus to this format is that it saves space on disks as it compresses movies into smaller file sizes without compromising on the quality of the movie, so effectively you can get several movies onto one disk rather than just one ... It comes with batteries.
Review of LG Electronics DVD 4210 by flabbercabbage

Advantages: Cheap includes twenty movies
Disadvantages: not multi regional

...because I came across an LG 4210 DVD player complete with twenty movies for the cost of £199.99. Who could be worthy of such a gift in such a large box, (always the most exciting to open!)? Why me of course. Time to rush home rip open the box throw away the 40-page manual and set the machine up, (is this a man thing?) The DVD player is a sleek silver model weighing 3 kgs measuring approximately 43 cms by 15 cms by 7.5 cms the actual dimensions may ...
...is. The player can also be used to play audio CD discs but it does not play CDR discs, this is not a function that really bothers me. A 21-pin scart plug is included so it’s a simple matter of connecting the player to the television and you’re off. There are other connections on the rear panel to connect the player to your television or hi-fi or surround sound speakers with Dolby Digital Sound or indeed Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound. A real plus ... Read review

Philips DVP3020 - Stylish and cheap!
Review of Philips DVP 3020 by IzzyS

Advantages: Stylish, good picture and audio quality, pretty good range of supported formats
Disadvantages: Had problem with a previous unit not working properly, Only region 2 compatible

...that there is a model Philips do which does include DivX playback, with the same sleek design just a slightly larger spec at maybe £30 or so more than this model, so that would probably be worth looking into). This DVD player offers progressive scan, which gives it better picture quality compared to the old bog standard DVD players, it however does not upscale to HDMI (near HD picture quality). Having said that, I use my DVD player with my Philips ...
...pretty impressive, I've no complaints about it at all. There's no problems with lines or pixellations or anything like that and I haven't had any problems with DVDs being noisy or pausing alot, it seems to work pretty quietly and efficiently. The sound quality is also very good, it supports Dolby Digital, my TV is capable of playing surround sound and the sound quality from pre-recorded DVDs played on this unit is very good. It can play MP3 and WMA ... Read review
