...of worst purchases ever, the Panasonic DMR-EZ 27, is just poor quality for today's market, chapter creation is poor, the overall recording is very poor to say the least, and the menus, including the TV guide for free view, look like something from the dark ages, like the old BBC Square computers some of us had at school. Setting up was quick and easy.It skipped one channel on automatic channel search but had to use manual channel selection to find it. Played DVD's cleanly. Have not tried to record yet, but reading the manual it looks easy enough. The remote buttons are a bit small for my fingers, but easy to use. Looks good and streamline. I bought this product last year for around £150 pounds, and so far, it hasn't let me down. After doing a bit of research I decided that I wanted a DVD recorder with a built in Freeview, as this would make it very easy to record digital TV. I can setup a program I want to record in under 25 seconds, which made me realise all the time I used to waste using an old video recorder and inputting the time. ...It's a simple as that. The DVD recorder works well, although I did have a couple of problems with the actual DVD's but I think that was my fault as they were quite scratched. Playback is straight forward, and fast forwarding is especially easy. You can even skip forward in 30 second segments with the touch of a button, which I have found to be very useful.
