I would die without my DVD recorder!!
Review of Panasonic DMRES20D by parkinson19

Advantages: easy-to-use, feature-packed and inexpensive
Disadvantages: no major ones

The Panasonic DMRES20D is a simple and well-constructed DVD recorder. It has the added bonus of a built in Freeview tuner that allows the user to record in digital quality, thereby justifying the need to record to DVD. Compared to the pile of DVD-player and VCR, together with cables and so on that lived beneath our TV, this unit, with its modern black and silver design, is simple and attractive to look at. There are no unsightly connectors stuck ...
...control basic functions of (newer) Panasonic televisions, which helps a little to clear up the clutter of modern home cinema. However, there are one or two minor niggles. Firstly, periodically during recording or playback, the Freeview digital signal freezes. For us, this is because we don't live in a particularly strong signal area - but we do have set top boxes that decode easily. It will benefit any potential buyer to seriously check the signal ... Not too shabby...
Review of Panasonic DMR-EH 80V by lucienaw

Advantages: Lots of features, easy for simple operations
Disadvantages: poor remote, complicated for advanced actions

...worked fine so should you buy the DMR-EH, don't forget to finalise!!! Overall, I'd say the DMR-EH is very capable at what you'd want to do, but is a little overpriced considering. Several of the cheaper systems made by panasonic should work just as well. Happy Hunting! ... Read review

My first dvd recorder
Review of Panasonic DMRE50EBS by sandemp

Advantages: Watch a film/program while still recording
Disadvantages: No hard drive, has been replaced by the e55

...- I've used both the panasonic RAM that came with the machine and a double sided datasafe RAM in a caddy without any problems. DVD-R - This machine is very picky over which DVD-R it will accept. It will NOT accept datasafe DVD-R, so I would recommend only using premium media. **************************** How reliable is it then? **************************** Unfortunately the drive in mine also failed after approx 3 months serious use, and it ...
...all other media, including retail dvd's. Due to the long turn around in getting it repaired I bought a toshiba recorder with a drive, and the panny is now relagated to the bedroom, and I only use caddied media with it, on those rare occasions when I want to record more than 2 things off sky. ************************ Conclusion *********************** I could not fairly recommend this recorder due to the problems I've had, although I realise ... The Sony 'RDR-GXD360
Review of Sony RDR-GXD360 by womblebatman

Advantages: simple to set up and use, great recording quality
Disadvantages: slower than a drunk snail, no HDMI

I recently aquired a Sony DVD recorder (RDR-GXD360). The Sony has freeview built in and a good reputation for audio visual quality. Set up was easy, I used the smart link connection between DVD and TV which means you can operate alot of the TV functions by the DVD remote which saves on fiddling around with two handsets. There's no hard drive but you can record onto most DVD media except dual-layered DVD-R and DVD-RAM discs. It has a number of recording ...
...of anonying traits with the Sony however. The first being how long it takes to load a disc and then to shut down, it's very slow and seems to make lots of noise doing it, the cooling fan makes a noise most of the time There's also the fact that it has no HDMI connection. I recently brought a LCD 'HDMI' TV so I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't use that feature. In light of the present advances in technology the Sony appears a bit dated, obviously ... Phillips DVD Player - Brilliant
Review of Philips DVD-R 3480 by chrisattrill

Advantages: Looks good, Loads of features
Disadvantages: Expensive, Quite big

I bought this product a few days ago and I thinks its brilliant. In terms of the looks its stylish, and sleek. Not only you can you watch DVD in HD but also you can pause live TV, record it on its 160 gig hard drive and store photos and videos. For the price I feel it was a little too much. I paid £140 at Sainsbury. But looing at sources you can get it for much less (£80 - £100) I would reconmend this product to anyone who likes whatching TV and ...
...a hifi. It is east to set up, just connect the two wires (included) to the back of the TV. Next you just follow the simple instructions to add channels. You can also add VCR players and also a Top Up Box. All of the things to make this product work is inclueded even the bays for the remote. So what are you waiting for! Get buying ... Read review
