Waste of money
Review of Samsung DVD-R 149 by
AndyK000
Advantages: ???
Disadvantages: Nearly everything
I bought this DVD recorder after returning my old one to the shop because it didn't work properly. I thought, well hoped that this one would be better. I was wrong.
Every time i put a disc in it the DVD recorder would freeze and not do anything for 10 minutes. When I tried to play CDs on it a message came up saying that there was an error and guess what... it would freeze again.
When it came to recording on it, the shop i bought it from were advertising ... ...but it doesn't, it just records on dvd-r. So this was no good when it came to trying to record a film that night, as I only had dvd+r. So I had to record it old school on a VCR. When I got some discs that would work and recorded something on it, Yet another disappointment. The picture quality was really bad. The picture was blurry and the the audio was out of sync.
The only good thing I found about this DVD recorder is that it looks quite stylish, ...

DVD-R155
Review of Samsung DVD-R 155 by
Wooz
Advantages: simple and easy to use
Disadvantages: none yet
Setting up was quick and easy.It skipped one channel on automatic channel search but had to use manual channel selection to find it. Played DVD's cleanly. Have not tried to record yet, but reading the manual it looks easy enough. The remote buttons are a bit small for my fingers, but easy to use. Looks good and streamline. Has all functions on front panel if you can't find the remote. User manual is realy easy to read and describes in a way that ...

Sleak And Sexy, Just Like Me!
Review of Samsung DVD-R 128 by
sghawken
Advantages: Highly durable machine
Disadvantages: None, it even survives long drops
I recently purchased the Samsung DVD-R128. I had simple requirements, it needed to be cheap (this was a secondary recorder), it needed to be of a certain size (due to the space it was to fill in a piece of furniture), and most importantly it needed to record in the - format. The main brand you find that falls into these requirements is LiteON, but I had just encountered a nasty situation with two different models of LiteOn product, that meant after ... ...with them. However this model Samsung machine stood out, it met all my requirements, plus my very first DVD player was a Samsung and almost 10 years on it still works fine.
Ok so lets get technical for a second; the recorders vital statistics were size and this model sits with a width of 43 cm, and a height of 4.9 cm; these dimensions mean that I can get my Telewest box, and my DVD recorder in a space in a bedroom unit, typically designed to fit ...

Samsung DVD-R122
Review of Samsung DVD-R122 by
charliemopic
Advantages: Plug and play ease
Disadvantages: Finding a blank disc amongst all the unmarked ones
DVD recording is THE way to go. Everything can be done on this recorder via a foolproof on-screen menu system. There are several record modes including extra high quality, standard, long and very long play. Obviously the better quality recording, the more space on the disc is needed.
You can record your chosen programmes by setting the timer manually or by using the Videoplus method (I've never found the codes for this method though) It is also ...
