Excellent 'no-frills' DVD Recorder
Review of Bush DVR 3006 by stuartrider

Advantages: Cheap, Simple to use and setup
Disadvantages: Size, Colour, Lacks certain features

...good value-for-money purchase. It's cheap, easy to use, reliable and does the same job as many more expensive DVD Recorders. There's no photo included here, but if you want to know what it looks like, take a look at the Bush DVR3003 DVD Recorder as it is virtually identical. ... Read review

Good value dvd recorder
Review of Bush DVR3003 by simsy87

Advantages: Value for money, easy to use, timers, reads all dvd's
Disadvantages: not video +, not time slip long loading times

...In terms of the bush I really feel that this is a good value if not a little less packed with features. But being cheaper in cost no way affected the looks of the unit; its simple, sleek clear design is pleasing on the eye under my 42" plasma. If you are not familiar with DVD recorders and find it difficult to use them I would recommend this I find it very easy to use, being very similar to the good old days of a video casset recorder 'press to record ...
...confusing at first but if you follow the easy guide in the instructions and the on screen instructions then you should get there!! When originally setting up the DVD recorder you once again follow the instructions on screen and have the instruction manual on hand!! It asks you to set the normal date and time and then goes into scanning for channels (so sets up the hard bit for you! This was a bonus!!) In terms of 'plugging' everything in this is ... A tree of magic!
Review of Bush DVR3004 by Paigeoleary

Advantages: A range of features!
Disadvantages: Dont know really

I have just recently bought this DVD player and I have found it very reliable, It has many features and loads of buttons I am glad it has not been braking , this one is like the best one I have had. I can trust it and it allows you to watch anything and also it lets you listen to music which I think that's pretty cool. I have watched loads of DVD'S on this and it is quick to come up and its very fast to set up but it may be a little confusing but ...
...setting it up. I am glad I have bought this and I also like to watch it late at night like a scary movie or a comedy movie like (little Britain). This is one of my favourite electrical items in my house hold and i find this very small but some can be smaller but this can be big so really i think its in between. I bought it about 4 weeks ago and was just seeing how it works and the sound quality and i find it great and the use of it is great as ... Read review

Wharfedale DVDR25HD250F
Review of Wharfedale DVDR24HD250F by kindlyraccoon

Advantages: Big hard drive and DVD record also HD ready, upscalling
Disadvantages: Difficult menu system, bright blue light on front distracting,

OK, I have only had this unit for one week now and to really truthfull, I wish I had not bought it. Lets start with the outside of the unit. It looks nice being all black because it fits in nicelly under my tv. Now the negative part. When the unit is switched on and is in the standby mode, you have a bright blue light from the power button on the front right side. When the unit is on this light goes off. I thought it should be the other way round. ...
...watching anything where you want the lights out. It is so much so that I have actually put a small peice of sticky tape over most of the light and left maybe a pinhead size showing so you know its powered. The numbers on the readout or small enough to make you squint at them to read if you are sitting, like me, 12 feet away. There is no option to make them bigger or indead make the blue light less bright. When you start the installation process you ... Read review

Rebadged LG unit reborn as lemming
Review of Sony RDR GX210 by katoosh525

Advantages: None that I can see, other than it is no longer made
Disadvantages: waste of resources and money.

...I pay the premium for Sony if I wanted an LG??? Frankly this would not matter if it actually worked. First failed after 1 month, second after 18 months. Just bought a Panasonic DMREZ27 which cost less (with 5 year warranty), works better and appears to be made by Panasonic. Absolutely gutted that Sony would do this, gone from lifelong Sony fan to never again. Check internet to confirm these failures, all laser heads. Cost > 100 to repair, so not ... Read review
