excellent-every dvd rec ull ever need

Advantages: nice to look at, fuctional, wel equpped
Disadvantages: none

...to the conclusion that the JVC DRM-1SL was one of the best buys on the market at present. The DRM-1SL has many features including the ability to use DVD-RAM disks so you can have "timeslip" recording allowing start watching the program before you have finished recording it. This and the "pause live TV" feature are fantastic!! The quality of recordings is excellent The DRM1SL will allow 4 hours/4.7 GB disk in LP mode giving and better quality than ...
...i've found useful with my JVC is the "Just" quality mode. It basically is a compression tool allowing a recording to fit into the space left on the disk - you tell it to use this feature and it adjusts the quality of the recording to fit on your disk. Compared to the Panasonic R70/75 it has quite a few advantages. It will take DVD-RW disks as well as DVD-R for a start! I'd recommend the JVC-DRM1SL over any other machine on the market ! ! ! ...

Transfer your favourite videos onto DVD !!

Advantages: Perfect picture, recorded onto DVD from video-tapes, TV, or from Sky.

...on the JVC Recorder. The manual recommends that you use the 6 hour setting for slow-moving pictures, eg dramas, as there is a slight reduction in picture quality. You will need an uninterrupted afternoon if you're going to read the instruction manual! But it is worth it! ...

...The DR-MH20 is described by JVC as a "Stylish DVD recorder with a built in 80 GB hard disk drive to revolutionise your TV and recording routine" and is at the bottom of JVCs Hard Drive recorder line up, with the DR-MH30 and DR-MH50 both improving on the specifications of the MH20, the most notable of which is the hard drive size which increases to 160GB on the MH30 and a whopping 250GB on the MH50. However, price is obviously a factor and in looking ...
...this is available from the JVC website and any place that sells the machine so I don't need to rehash the stats here. What you really want to know is: is it any good? It wasn't that long ago that VCR's were selling for £260 so is it worth the dough? In a sentence: oh yes it is and then some! Having said that, it's not without its issues (I think the word 'problems' is too harsh in this case - so I'll stick with 'issues'). First off, there's a 91 ...

Excellent picture quality , but unreliable

Advantages: High quality recording on hard disk
Disadvantages: Unreliable

Great picture quality but VERY UNRELIABLE. Difficult menu system but OK with practice. Had to send it back twice for repair after the display flashed LOADING and the TV screen went blank. There's a combination of keys that's supposed to clear lock-outs but it didn't work. The other advice was to disconnect and reconnect the power, but that didn't work either. Having recorded a lot of programmes on the hard disk, I have just started archiving them ...
...the disk so it can be read like a conventional DVD but, after starting this process I find the recorder crashes every time and switches off. As it has started finalising, but not completed it, you can't then retrieve the data on the disk. I've wasted many hours archiving recordings and had to scrap numerous blanks (all good quality disks) - very frustrating. Don't know what to do now: we can't save our recordings from the hard disk and we're afraid ...
