say goodbye to the video recorder!
Advantages: stylish, compact, recorder Disadvantages: lots of options to learn
...As you may know toshiba is a brilliant make, and this dvd recorder is a great addition to their collection of fabulous products. Its sleek back front looks stylish and also moden so it looks great sitting in the TV cabinet.
Plus it has so many features it is unbelievable, This is a Multi-drive DVD-RAM / DVD-RW / DVD-R recorder, which you can also use CRR, CD-RW and CDs.
So along with being a dvd player it is also a cd player and you'l never guess ... ...your sound system and play everything through the player. What more could you ask.
The video quality is good and easy to set up pre recorded and instant record settings. Another feature is that the player has timeslip recording and also editing features, which means no more anoying adverts through our important films or TV programmes. It is also mpeg compatible. along with a progressive scan option which means that: the player scans individual picture ...

I dare you to press RECORD
Advantages: The ability to transfer VHS to DVD Disadvantages: Sometimes graphics never turn out the way you want them to
This review is for the Toshiba RD XV47-K-TE multifunction DVD player and recorder. Setup ------------ Well the DVD player is pretty easy to get ready but you will take a while to sort out the options. You plug the mains into the socket and you just have to wait for the system to load up. You find the right channel usually for me it would be an AV scart section and you have a blue screen pop up. You use the remote control to select options such ... ...recorder to actually find channels which is not advisable as will be explained later on. Once the settings are done you can then go ahead and play anything you wish to on this system without any hassle at all. Design ----------- The DVD recorder is mainly black which is perhaps obviously from the picture. On the front you have the main buttons and functions; you have the opening for the DVD's to be placed into and a VHS opening as well for ...

One that's easy to understand!
Advantages: Easy set up and good user guide Disadvantages: No scart lead supplied
...recorder combi with Freeview by Toshiba as I have been wanting a DVD recorder for some time now, but also I have a number of videos still and not quite ready to get rid of them yet! I spent a bit of time looking around before deciding on this one, and what made me decide to buy it was the fact that people were saying it was easy to set up. I am not the most technical minded person, so the easier the better as far as I am concerned! I did think that ... ...operate and set up, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use. The thing I like most about this is I have a lot of videotape of my daughters when they were younger, which I had transferred from my Sony Handycam onto VHS, and would dearly like to have these on DVD now as videos are fast becoming obsolete. So now I can record those precious videos onto DVD. The DVD/VHS combi is black and around the size, if not a little larger, ...

Bringing the worlds of VHS and DVD together...
Advantages: Loads of extra features, nice design Disadvantages: Bit bulky
When I took this out of the box, I instantly took note of the design, the black colouring looks quite good and the front panel isn't took complicated. It looks like something like a cross between an old fashioned video player and a modern DVD player, but the effect has been pulled off well and it is not unsightly. The only discontentment I had with it was how bulky it was, but then I supposed with all the features it has, including a VHS slot, this ... ...but you have to make sure that you have connected the aerial lead first or it doesn't work, it took me quite a while to figure that out, so I have just saved you some time. As well as being a DVD player, it can also play VHS and also has some pretty cool features. It can convert VHS tapes to DVD (this is the main reason I bought it, I have been unable to do anything with my VHS tapes since my old player broke and it was nice to be able to watch them ...

Strong technical unit let down by design flaws
Advantages: Very easy to manage content on large hard disk Disadvantages: Timeslip/Chase play is awkward
...looked up-market, and selected the Toshiba RD XS24 based on its hard disk capacity, comprehensive copying features and super looks.
To start with the unit's strengths:
It has an excellent capacity - 250GB is enough to keep plenty of regularly watched content on all the time, as well as the usual run of catching up on programmes you would have missed. With my previous 80GB recorder, I'd spend a couple of hours a week transferring things to DVD to ... ...how it should work, and the engineers at Toshiba have simply got it wrong.
So my verdict is that this is technically an excellent unit. But if pausing live TV is a main reason for buying, its design flaws might turn you away from this otherwise excellent unit. ...
