say goodbye to the video recorder!
Advantages: stylish, compact, recorder Disadvantages: lots of options to learn
...As you may know toshiba is a brilliant make, and this dvd recorder is a great addition to their collection of fabulous products. Its sleek back front looks stylish and also moden so it looks great sitting in the TV cabinet.
Plus it has so many features it is unbelievable, This is a Multi-drive DVD-RAM / DVD-RW / DVD-R recorder, which you can also use CRR, CD-RW and CDs.
So along with being a dvd player it is also a cd player and you'l never guess ... ...your sound system and play everything through the player. What more could you ask.
The video quality is good and easy to set up pre recorded and instant record settings. Another feature is that the player has timeslip recording and also editing features, which means no more anoying adverts through our important films or TV programmes. It is also mpeg compatible. along with a progressive scan option which means that: the player scans individual picture ...

toshiba rd-xv47kb new transistor and capacitor and only 13 months
Advantages: it is good to copy 3 hour vids to hard drive so you can split and copy onto 2 DVD's Disadvantages: hard to remember fucntions unless you use it every week
Well I've worked on complicated electonics for years but I struggled with the manual - not that easy. Any way typed shortcut notes and have been using it. But, after 13 months or so the video would'nt go in and it shut down when I put a DVD in. A capacitor and transistor were faulty now that problem is solved.
But, now the red dubbing button on the remote does not work and I have to push down hard the other buttons to make the remote work, sometimes ... ...The sytem takes a long time to power up an switch between functions. I bought this for our school having read good reviews but I would not buy this unit again or recommend it. Maybe I had a dud unit from the start. The trouble is we don't use it very much and it got out of warranty before I noticed it was faulty. If I were using it every day I might have spotted the fault sooner. You don't know what things are like until you use them for some time. ...

One that's easy to understand!
Advantages: Easy set up and good user guide Disadvantages: No scart lead supplied
...recorder combi with Freeview by Toshiba as I have been wanting a DVD recorder for some time now, but also I have a number of videos still and not quite ready to get rid of them yet! I spent a bit of time looking around before deciding on this one, and what made me decide to buy it was the fact that people were saying it was easy to set up. I am not the most technical minded person, so the easier the better as far as I am concerned! I did think that ... ...operate and set up, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use. The thing I like most about this is I have a lot of videotape of my daughters when they were younger, which I had transferred from my Sony Handycam onto VHS, and would dearly like to have these on DVD now as videos are fast becoming obsolete. So now I can record those precious videos onto DVD. The DVD/VHS combi is black and around the size, if not a little larger, ...

Toshiba RD-85 DT Dvd recorder - review
Advantages: Easy to use, not to big Disadvantages: Whirring noise, slow start up
We bought this Dvd recorder to replace the vcr, dvd player and freeview box we previously had in our front room. Although the remote control takes a little while to master, it is easy to use and nagivigate, for example to record a programme its a case of pressing just 3 buttons, also programmes you have recorded are easy to store and to find. The sound and picture quality are really good and the product is a nice size and also attractive looking. ... ...long time to start up, no good if yu in a rush, also you can only watch the channel you are recording whilst recording unless you watch just the normal tv in which case you are limited to channels 1 - 5! Also the fan inside the box makes a rather loud whirring noise constantly while the dvd recorder is turned on, which can be rather annoying. ...
