Advantages: These strings are affordable, and have never given me a problem. Disadvantages: As with any other strings, these will NOT make newbie guitarists sound like seasoned pros. Oh, well.

They are bronze-wound, with color-coded ball ends to assist in stringing them in the correct order (i.e. the black ball end goes in a certain place, ... ...a bit much, considering that I DO know how to string a guitar properly, but if it helps somebody else out I won’t complain much.
They are also sealed in a special package that prevents corrosion and other damage to the strings. The packaging consists of a cardboard envelope, and one of the anti-corrosion bags with all six strings sealed inside of it – thus, it’s environmentally responsible, and buyers can feel a twinge of do-goodiness ...

Advantages: Colour coded for easy stringing. Sealed packet to prevent corosion before purchase. Disadvantages: none
D'Addario make some good quality strings and have some extra features too. Each string has a colour coded end to help you get them on correctly even if your in a hurrying in a dark room. They also pack them into a sealed bag within the packet which keeps them in good condition. (this is good as sometimes you can buy strings that have been on a shelf or in a warehouse for a year)
I like the tone of these strings, but at the end of the day it is a ... ...to your playing style and taste. D'Addario are good quality, but so are a lot of other companies. I have sets on 2 of my guitars at the moment and have given them a slightly higher rating than the Ernie Balls due to the extra features mentioned above. ...

Advantages: Inexpensive Disadvantages: Quality can be a bit iffy
...now and have always bought D'addario strings, experimenting between 9, 10 & 11 gauge, Nickel Wound strings.
I personally find the 10 gauge strings best for comfort and playability as they do not grate your skin as much as 11+ gauges and do not cut into your skin as much as the 9 gauge strings.
The strings do not last exceptionally long periods of time if you don't maintain them with regular cleaning (oils & such).
The only problem I have had with ... ...three sets of 11 gauge strings. The strings just kept breaking before they were even tuned in. Luckily the retailer sent me a pack of new strings without enquiring about the broken ones.
To conclude, I buy D’addario strings because they are comfortable to play on, their colour co-ordination makes them easy to put on the guitar for newbies and they sound good. ...

Advantages: Great sound, easy to install Disadvantages: Not great for hammers... Solos.
...bout my first set Of D'Addario Guitar strings (Orangle Knickle wound XL) and to be honest at first I thought I was playing with ropes, these things sounded amazing but were as thick as.. well as thick as really thick metal. I persume the guy I asked in the shop to select me some strings for the guitar I owned mabe could have been given a little more information or he wasn't a super assistant.
However after playing an hour a day.. ish for about a ... ...twice as much as my previous strings and the sound especiall from the E is just awesome. This was my first time replacing strings and their fantastic colour coded instructons made it very easy for me highly recommended.
the only other concern is when ever I am performing hammers with these they are very faint, if not at all audible when I have my amp low. ...
