    Advantages Advantages English superstar player.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not too bright, annoying wife, constant harassment.

David Beckham is probably our biggest icon. He's England's most prized footballer, he's one half of Britain's most famous showbiz couple, he's a doting father and his hairstyles are recreated up and down the country. And his appeal has helped companies everywhere to promote their wares. It is almost impossible to go anywhere these days without seeing Beckham's image on a poster, billboard, magazine or newspaper. He is the face of Police sunglasses, promotes Adidas, endorses Pepsi, is a model for Brylcreem hair products and is helping to develop a computer game in his name. He has also designed ... more

Advantages Advantages Great athlete, role model

Disadvantages Disadvantages Really that wife? OK...

I was browsing through the ciao cafe discussions and happened upon this - I have read a few of the reviews and I'm not going to tell you his life story, club history or similar - I am going to tell you why I respect him as a person and an athlete. Good looking, good footballer and the rest, And of course, living in London there were quite a few 'true' Man Utd fans who could explain in great detail why they supported Man Utd ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Discipline, plays for Man U

I was pleasantly surprised to find a section for England’s most loved / hated man. And I certainly couldn’t resist writing an editorial about the guy. Whatever your feelings for him, I hope you enjoy reading my opinions on the man and the myth. Firstly, I absolutely hate Manchester United Football Club plc and everything they stand for. I did so before they dominated English football and will stand as an ABU all my life. Obviously much of this is derived from jealousy and this affliction is the major driving force behind people’s hatred (and hatred is an apt word) for David ... more

Gone for good? So, yesterday Mr Capello did it. He took the same step that Steve Maclaren took when naming his first England squad, by omitting David Beckham. This time, however, the circumstances are totally different and no doubt the public and media reaction will be much more split on this occasion. The History David Beckham is one of the best known names on the planet. To be honest, I would be surprised if there is a single person in the country who doesn't know the name. In the mid 90's Beckham shot to fame with Manchester United and England, he was an integral part of the treble winning ... more
