[01]. Introduction
**********************************************************************
The world of the "wireless telegraphy" not ceasing evolving of day in day, I finally decided to invest in this remarkable technical prowess.

Is Wi-Fi, what it that this animal there? Technology known as Wi-Fi (from English= Wireless-Fidelity) consists in conveying information by the means of electromagnetic waves. Without returning too much in detail (that points out bad memories of course to me on this subject), it is acted in fact of modulating a signal put beforehand on several carrying, from where the use rightly of the name of the protocol OFDM which wants to say ...... anything enthralling good you imagine well; -). The famous carrying ones (various channels) are emitted at frequencies goshawks 2.4 GHz. The flow, as for him, can reach 54 Mbit/s. It is supposed that the range of a Wi-Fi signal can reach 100 meters. For my part, I remain septic with this data because it varies according to full with parameters.

What can one make with? With Wi-Fi, if it of course is wished, one can connect two or several computers sets. One will speak here about ad hoc networks (nothing to see with the captain lol). Note: so that this network functions, it will be necessary for you to allot, with your machines, of IP addresses like their mask network corresponding (example of two PC: 192.168.0.1 with a mask 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.0.2 with a 255.255.255.0 mask). These parameters can starting from the control panel.

One can also connect his own computer with an access point (LiveBox example). One will speak here about a network in infrastructure mode. Note: here, IP address of your machine depends on its intrinsic service and access point (this one can equipped with a service DHCP which has as a role to allot IP addresses).

Here are thus uses, in data processing, relating to Wi-Fi technology. Note: do not count on me to inform you that with a good Wi-Fi chart, good drivers, and a small software of alignment, one can capture screens emitted between an access point and the PC of the neighbor in order to recover the headings of the packages to be able, thereafter, to obtain the Wep key of safety. jesus, I still wrote too quickly me. ; -) More seriously, attention with that because it is prohibited (and which that can take of time lol). Immediately let us discover the small chart which I chose.

[02]. The product
**********************************************************************
It is about the chart D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 of which here some characteristics:

Designation (I have just said it; -)): D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 - Adapter Network
Type of product: Adapter Network
Factor of form: Plug-in chart
Type of interface (drunk): NCV Protocol of data link: IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g
Flow of transfer of data: 54 Mbits/s
Frequency band: 2.4 GHz Conformity to the standards: IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.1x
Dimensions (LxPxH): 0.9 X 11.4 X 5.4 cm
Weight: 55 G
Guarantee manufacturer: 3 years
Price: 34 €

How one makes it function?
It is necessary, initially, disconnect your computer electrically in order not to be made electro-déculoter lol. Open your limps (it is not the screen it is the different one; -)) and check that a port NCV is available (it is a slot of white color, one cannot be mistaken). If it is the case, connect your Wi-Fi adapter and close again your limps (that which you opened all per hour lol). Replug your ordi and start normally, as if you had not done anything. If you are under Windows, this one will indicate to you that a new material is detected. You will have to follow the stages step by step. For the others which would use Linux for example, will not need my councils bus when one can "play" with such an operating system, one can install a peripheral; -). Insert the CD-Rom as indicated and follow walk. Simple, not?

How to check that the chart functions?
Several ways. The first: the famous control panel administrative system of peripherals. If no point of exclamation is visible, cheer, you are a chief, and all your PC functions with wonder; -). The second: if you know address IP of one of your members of networks or address IP of the access point itself, it will be necessary for you to launch a MS-DOS window and to type the following order: ping addresses IP (ex: ping 192.168.1.1) yes, I am at orange for the experts; -). This request makes it possible to send 4 packages IP to the selected machine and to have possibly these packages in return. If you read 0% of lost packages, it is that your chart functions with wonder. You see, not need to be a genius in data processing to assemble a Wi-Fi chart (and it is generally the case with the other peripherals); -).

[03]. My opinion with life
**********************************************************************
I am very satisfied with this chart. Indeed, I noted only positive points about it. Even the price of 34 € appears correct to me.
It is very easy to install. The small software provided with is rather pleasant and simple of use.
My first apprehensions related to the range of the Wi-Fi signal at home. I am connected to my livebox thanks to this chart. Is this one in the dining room whereas my computer, are in my bedroom (normal, no it is? ; -)). I would say that there are approximately six good meters of distance, two doors, and a standard partition brick-plaster. The reception is very suitable because I am connected most of the time with a flow of 54 Mbit/s (the max). I go down sometimes to 36 Mbit/s what is completely acceptable. It should be noted that I do not know absolutely the power of emission of my livebox (a few mWatt I supose) but in a transmission chain of this kind, it is the quality of the reception antenna which is important. As much to say to you that this chart is powerful…
Moreover, I tested it in mode ad' hoc (look introduction). Once again, I was very satisfied with the results and performances that my small Wi-Fi chart gets. To conclude, I would say that it is about a reliable product, inexpensive. I think of making use of it very a long time. I it council highly. I think that it would be completely useless to invest in a more expensive chart. Nevertheless, to pay attention to the chart first price… Some recommendations: Avoid the metal obstacles (floor concrete reinforced for example) because the flow is considerably, reduced. Not to put your Wi-Fi chart in the microwaves, even in the event of shipwreck. It is strongly disadvised connecting its chart to the antenna TV to collect canal+ lol. Lastly, avoid letting run water unnecessarily while you wash yourselves the teeth. Nothing to see either, but it should be repeated it so that that returns. I do not know you, but me if; -) Here, it is finished.

I am very happy to see you again on this website.
I kiss you.

So long. TiDjool2...
