more...price, this wireless LAN CompactFlash card offers all the benefits of a traditional wired Ethernet network, plus the advantage of being wireless. This card lets you stay connected while you're moving around with your PDA to work, send/view e-mail and access server data, all without the need to hook up to any network wires. Complying with IEEE 802.11b industry standard, the DCF-660W operates at the 2.4GHz frequency range and interoperates with all IEEE 802.11b equipment. Ethernet-based network access from your PDA is also possible through IEEE 802.11b Access Points. Designed as a Type I CompactFlash, the DCF-660W plugs into any pocket or handheld PC equipped with a Type I slim expansion slot, or a Type II expansion slot. Security is an issue when data is transmitted without the wires. In the air, transmitted data can be easily intercepted if not well protected by a security scheme. The DCF-660W provides the necessary security, using the industry-standard 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption protocol. Data privacy mechanism is based on a shared key algorithm, as described in the wireless LAN standards. The DCF-660W has been tested to operate with Compaq iPAQ 36xx/37xx/38xx series (CPU: Strong ARM), Casio E125, E200, BE300, BE500 (MIPS R4000), HP Jornada 535, 540, 548 (CPU: SH3), 565 (Strong ARM SA1110), Sharp Telios (MIPS R3000), HP Jornada 720 (Strong ARM).

Go Wireless with D-Link
Review of D-Link Air DWL 650+ by  Deru

Advantages: Easy to set up and use, Stable, Good support
Disadvantages: A bit out dated

...The D-Link DWL-G650+ is a PCMCIA wireless (WiFi) card, which plugs into an available PCMCIA slot on a laptop. With this card, it wireless-enables a laptop, assuming it doesn't have built-in wireless already. The card cost me about £25 at the time but you may be able to find the same one cheaper now. Most of these seem to be in this price range if not less, since they are becoming redundant with new laptops already having built-in cards. It's a 802.11G card, which means theoretically, it can transfer 54Mbits/s but they never get to that speed. Most residential broadband connections nowadays only range up to 10Mbit/s. INSTALLATION I find the installation of this card has always been very easy. I just install the driver and software off the CD and then plug the card in. This literally takes minutes. Only thing I'm not too keen on is... Read review

D-Link Bluetooth Adapter can make you happier
Review of D-Link PersonalAir DBT-122 by  cam3lot

Advantages: Saves you money, quick transfer from one device to another...
Disadvantages: None till now...

...I think this is the tinniest product I ever reviewed…but being so useful to me I thought I'll write some words about it. D-Link DBT-122 USB Bluetooth Adapter it is a very helpful tool for those people who'd like to transfer some files from one machine to another. Me I use it to transfer mp3 music from my PC to my telephone. I bought this small item from www.expansys.com.cy and I paid for it only £12, a bit expensive but what's cheap today? It came in a very big box (I really don't understand why it has to be so big) which had inside: - The USB Bluetooth Adapter - CD-ROM - USB extension cable - User Manual Driver Installation After you get everything out from the box, the first thing you have to do - as I did - is to insert the CD in your CD-ROM Drive and to follow the steps which will appear on your... D-Link DWA-140. Dodgy Wireless Ability
Review of D-Link RangeBooster N USB Adapter DWA-140 by  Cyber-Mark

Advantages: Wireless N technology is good for speed and data throughput...
Disadvantages: ...but if the adapter keeps dropping out (like this one does) then it is useless

...my net experience. So...that's alright then. I need not have kept rebooting. All I had to do was pull.... what? You mean that's not a design feature? Ok. In that case it is not up to the job - I want reliability…not a lack of ability. I summarise the D-Link DWA-140 as follows: D-Links Woeful Adaptor Dodgy Wireless Ability Doesn't Work Always Dis Was Awful Don't Want Another Don't Waste Any (money on this adapter) Recommend it? That will be a 'No', then ps I researched the drop out problem on the internet - apparently it is well known so I am not alone in this - you have been warned!!... Read review
