Why upgrade your entire network when you can multiply your workgroup's bandwidth with a powerful 12 or 18-port switch? Complete with virtual LAN support for enhanced security and...
more...SNMP support for advanced network management, the DES-2212 and DES-2218 models are feature-laden workhorses. D-Link switches affectively eliminate unnecessary traffic, multiply available bandwidth, and relieve congestion on your critical server paths. D-Link switches are economical to own, simple to operate, and flexible for use in a variety of applications. They present effective, affordable and easy-to-implement solutions to meet demands for higher network loads and quicker response time in small workgroups or medium-sized departments. You can choose any model from 2 to 18 ports to meet your specific application need. Ports can be for dedicated 10Mbps or 100Mbps bandwidth, or intelligent auto-detect 10/100Mbps. Low per-port cost makes them affordable choices for connecting to small groups of users or individual power stations. The high-speed ports permit Ethernet workgroups to share servers on dedicated full-duplex 200Mbps bandwidths, or to communicate with Fast Ethernet users in a single integrated network. Industry-standard built-in SNMP permits the switches to be part of a larger managed network for configuration control and traffic monitoring.

Dlink Strikes Again
Review of D-Link DES 1008D - switch - 8 ports by  me.net

Advantages: 8 Port
Disadvantages: Static.

...Dlink DES 1008D Why a switch? Switches are the backbones of a network. They are the devices that at all the computers in the office have no choice but to use. They are a great tool in modern computer networks. The switch allows communication between computers, servers and network printers. What does a switch need to do? 1. Connect multiple computers 2. Be Fast 3. Be Reliable 4. Be user Friendly So will the DES 1008D model handle the pressure? 1. Connectivity The DES 1008D has a total of 8 ports witch means that you could have 8 computers connecting simultaneously, or you could have a variety or pcs, servers, printers, and other networks switches connecting to it. 8 ports will happily support a small office or home based network. 2. Speed So we have found out that it has 8 ports so what will... Read review

D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router 4 Port
Review of D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router 4 Port by  matt_fantastic

Advantages: Pick up a bargain ?
Disadvantages: Only 4 ethernet ports ?

...Another review from me for a discontinued item, but may be useful if you're loking to pick up a bargain item on ebay... The D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router has a built-in ADSL modem - plugs directly into your ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)-enabled phone line, and with its 4 port 10/100Mbps ethernet switch, allows connections to lots of things (check out my other reviews for what it's connected to...). The DCHP server allows automatic allocation of IP addresses to all your network gubbins too - although I've set the IP's for my wireless accesspoint & print server to allow easier access to their brower based interfaces. The DSL-504 has a browser admin interface too for easy installation and setup, just type in the IP address (the default 192.168.0.1, as with most routers, but if it's changed you can always use the command line... Belkin 2-Port KVM Switch With Built-In Cabling
Review of Belkin 2-Port KVM Switch with Built-In Cabling - KVM switch - 2 ports by  ilaskey

Advantages: Advantages: Cheap, all in one solution
Disadvantages: No manual overide or audio support

...stops autoscanning and lets you use the currently selected PC. The Belkin claims support for scrolling mice but I did find sometimes one PC would start up without recognising this facility if it wasn't the currently selected one when booting up and in extreme cases, wouldn't recognise the keyboard and mouse at all. Previous KVM's I've used send the PC fake 'There's a keyboard and mouse here' messages when not selected and it seems this unit does not, which is a pity. Conclusion The Belkin 2 port KVM is a well built unit that works nicely and provides a great way to save desk space and the cost of a second monitor, keyboard and mouse. The long leads are useful and despite the niggles with scrolling mice and the lack of manual switch. I'd say this unit is worth considering at this price if you can live with those shortcomings...
