These cost £50 and I think are very reliable and robust, nothing goes wrong with them, they just sit there ticketing away without messing up. The only time I have known to stop working print gets stuck in it , all need to do is give the print server a restart and it starts working fine again.
I recommend this as a good buy.

The D- Link DP-301U is a small compact print server that connects to your Ethernet or Fast Ethernet network. With its USB port, the DP-301U allows those on your network to access and share a USB printer no matter where they reside on the network. We use quite a lot these printer servers at work as not many of our printers do not have built in network connections an as most of our printers have USB connections we need a print server that has USB compatible.
These print servers are very easy to use, are very easy to setup and the user manual that comes with them is very easy understand and to follow. The print server is equipped with one USB version 1.1 port for a connection to most USB printers available ass most printers only support USB. The DP-301U also supports all major network operation systems and protocols. With its compact size, the DP-301U can easily be placed anywhere. The print server is very easy to configure using a Web Browse. Using Web Browsers on a PC connected to the network, configuration is simple and straightforward with the familiar D-Link interface.

Advantages: Good web interface, does what it says on the tin Disadvantages: Hard/slow to install, a few bugs, expensive
This is a fairly expensive, but simple, printer server. With this print server you can easily share a normal printer over a network. You can then printer from this printer without having to have any other computers in the network on.
Setup is easy for the server, but it can take 20-30 minutes to follow the advanced instructions and set this up on each computer in your network.
Once it is up, you can manage the settings and connect to it using the ... ...settings and reboot the server and manage the print queue.
A few disadvantages are that it is quite expensive for what it does and any extra printer functionality such as a scanner is lost when using the server.
It also seems to have a few bugs causing things to not print or it will stop responding. But overall it is a fairly good product. ...
