Disadvantages Disadvantages a little boring to look at but hey

A router is a useful device, I am not talking about the router that you use to make a piece of wood look prettier around the edges but the router that helps you get on-line, be it wirelessly or the old fashioned why via wires. I have used several routers during my many many years on-line, either at work or at home, even using a mobile ’dongle’, which can be somewhat temperamental at times. Anyway, the router I have been using most recently is the D-Link DSL 2640R, a black box of special tricks which will help you surf the web with safety and ease. ** WHAT COMES IN THE BOX… * The router (black ... more

I'm sure that anyone that has read any of my 'techno' reviews recently knows that I'm a little out of touch with technology! I suspect (and hope) that there are many others who are the same. Advantages Advantages Speed, Price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Reliability, Wireless Reception, Design

I received the DSL-2640R free from my ISP (TalkTalk). In this review I will tell you about my experience with it. The speed of this router isn't half bad. It can offer up to 54Mbps over Wireless or up to 100Mbps over Ethernet although most UK households don't get more than 10Mbps. It has no problems with large downloads. Also the prices I've seen on sites like Amazon are pretty good for a wireless router. There's 4 ethernet connections so you have no need to worry about not having enough ports for games consoles, laptops etc. It's very secure too offering WPA2 encryption. However, this router ... more

This is really hard to find out disadvantage of this benign router. I am using this router for last 6 months. This is cheap but works reasonably well at that price tag. I am a tech savvy doctor from India. I do write reviews here for my hobby to let the world know the true facts. I usually keep open my internet connection 16 hours out of 24 hours in d day. All I need to do is just open my router. I have two computers, one is my desktop to which this router is linked and organized and another laptop which I connect via wireless. It gives excellent connectivity up to 10 miters. But after 10 ... more
