Advantages: Holds connection well. Ethernet DSL modem. Disadvantages: Quite difficult to set up initially. Fails after a while.
I bought this modem because I needed an ethernet DSL modem, and there are not that many around. It was used to go into a US Robotics Router/Access Point for both wireless and a wired network.
It was initially fairly difficult to set-up, with a steep learning curve but once understood all ran much more smoothly. The connection held most of the time, the modem only needing rebooting after power cuts and the like.
It was used in conjunction with a ... ...was upgraded to 2mbps. It performed well under fairly strenous <- 2 users always on for long periods of time conditions.
It worked fine for a year or so, before going a bit crazy for no apparent reason. The firmware was flashed, everything tried, but to no avail. The modem would not continue working. A bit of investigation through dsl forums showed this to be a fairly common occurence, many people telling the same story.
