Ethernet network. It comes equipped with a 10/100 Mbps interface and supports the ADSL 2+ protocol with speedy transfer rates. The DSL-320T modem can be configured via a web browser and is easy to set up, giving you access to a reliable, stable network for your computer!
Advantages: Simple set up, price, no drivers to mess with, no gimmicks Disadvantages: very minor compatibility issues
I needed an ethernet modem to allow "always on" connection for my Apple Airport network. Up till now I've been using a Speedtouch USB and internet sharing to the wireless network via the attached computer. The disadvantage here was that this computer needed to be left on as long as an internet connection was required.
I chose the 320T because it was simple, reasonably future proof (ADSL2/+) and I didn't need a wireless router.
I got a good deal ... ...and after a couple of minor issues I'm now happy with its performance and stability.
First problem was a software compatibility issue with Airport. I could get the modem to work through the ethernet connection on the computer but not the WAN port on my Airport Extreme base station. A bit of research on Apple's website followed by an Airport firmware update and all was well.
The other problem was a frequent loss of connection, but this was sorted ...

Advantages: It's small and it's never crashed. Disadvantages: No disadvantages so far. A quick call to D-link and it was up in minutes.
...an smc 2804 for a d-link 655. The Voyager \ Smc combination crashed everytime we had heavy data loads (2 or more people streaming or downloading). We have 2 desktops ( 1 wired \ 1 wireless) 3 laptops (1 wired \ 2 wireless) 2 xbox 360's (1 wired \ 1 wireless) a Wii (wireless) and 3 Ds's. The 320T (and the 655) have never crashed, and handle all the connections easily). I've never had to reset either of these since they were installed, and recommend ...

Advantages: Fairly fast Disadvantages: Crashes every 30 minutes, doesn't hold settings unless saved AND restarted
...- do not purchase a D-Link DSL 320T modem! Unless you want to have to pull the power plug out very 30 minutes for 10 seconds at a time, often crashing when you are in the middle of something like a pageload or instant messaging, DO NOT BUY IT! I don't think any firmware updates for this modem will ever be made because they are usually released as soon as any problems are found with the modem. Therefore these problems will continue for as long as ...

Manufacturer's product description
The DSL-320T ADSL2/+ modem is a high-speed broadband modem for home and office use. Featuring the latest ADSL2/+ standards, this modem provides speeds of up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (ADSL2+), or 12Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (ADSL2). The modem auto-negotiates the best modulation scheme, using the G.hs (handshake) protocol. The DSL-320T ADSL2/+ modem supports "always on" connections to eliminate dial-up wait time and busy signals. Web surfing and your e-mail are instantly available, any time. Like any ADSL modem, it lets you access the Internet using your existing phone lines, without interfering with your voice phone service. You can talk on the phone and surf the net at the same time. Along with instant connectivity, you can surf the Internet at very high speeds. With high-speed connections (depending on the rate that you subscribe with your Internet service provider), you won't have to wait for downloads of graphic-intensive web pages. These speeds are also ideal for on-line audio/video streams, Internet games, VoIP phone communication applications and transfers of large files over the Internet. Installation is quick and simple. You connect the modem to any PC with an available Ethernet port, or to a router to share high-speed Internet access with a group of users at home or the office.

I bought this kit (along with an included DWL G122 USB dongle; see my separate review) as a package from Ebuyer mid 2005 for £58. I had read all of the reviews I could reasdily lay my hands on and thought it was a bargain at this price and to a degree it more
I bought this modem because I needed an ethernet DSL modem, and there are not that many around. It was used to go into a US Robotics Router/Access Point for both wireless and a wired network.
It was initially fairly difficult to set-up, with a steep... more
