I bought mine Amazon several months ago to run with my wireless router and the setupd was reasonalby self-explanatory. However, only a few weeks into having it, it crashed and stayed like that for several weeks. I used the original Speedtouch 330 modem that had come with my broadband as a temporary replacement although this was incompatible with my router so I coudl only use it on one computer.

Anyway, a computer professional came and fixed the modems problems but a couple of months later, problems cropped up again for no apparent reason. The modem now crashes every 30 minutes and so I have again gone back to the Speedtouch modem.

The setup is though a browser interface but when you put settings in, you must click 'save and restart' even though the instructions do not tell you this. If you simply click 'save' to save the settings, you won't actually save them at all!

Then... no firmware updates have been released to fix any of the problems even though this modem is now a couple of years old! This is quite worrying, considering that other people have had similar experiences with crashes, incompatibility with some ISPs and that the settings do not save unless you restart the modem. The firmware updates would have to be downloaded manually from their site so you won't know if any are available unless you check fairly regularly although there no updates anyway. This is inconvenient since other hardware can update automatically from the internet - so why can't a modem that actually directly connects to the internet?!?!?

My advice is very simple - do not purchase a D-Link DSL 320T modem! Unless you want to have to pull the power plug out very 30 minutes for 10 seconds at a time, often crashing when you are in the middle of something like a pageload or instant messaging, DO NOT BUY IT! I don't think any firmware updates for this modem will ever be made because they are usually released as soon as any problems are found with the modem. Therefore these problems will continue for as long as you use the modem. Buy a Netgear or Linksys modem instead.
