For many home users, the idea of setting up a wireless modem router may be scary, nothing could be simpler here because as usual D-Link have provided a very quick and simple method of installing your new router without the need to dial into the router ... .../>
As usual with D-Link the built-in modem is lighting fast supporting ADSL, ADSL2 and the new faster ADSL2+ broadband connections.
The Wireless,
Good range and very quick client connection times. Luckly the G624T has a removable antenna, so it is possible to replace it with a better antenna for improved range, but I have found that the stock antenna works find for me.
I have owned, sold and setup many routers over past year, the home wireless age is truly here.

For many home users, the idea of setting up a wireless modem router may be scary, nothing could be simpler here because as usual D-Link have provided a very quick and simple method of installing your new router without the need to dial into the router though your browser and spend hours restarting and saving (Belkin!). It is also important to note that the G624T features 'click n connect' technology which in simple terms means that adding clients takes just two clicks!
The G624T hosts many features, such as an integrated firewall for added security, 4 built-in 10/100Base-TX switch ports with auto MDI/MDIX support ( this means you can use either straight-though or cross-over ethernet cables both will work) and 802.11g Wireless LAN (up to 54Mbps speed) with 802.11b backwards compatiblity.

Advanced Users,
When such a device features the words 'easy to setup' us more advanced users tend to shy away, but fear not because the G624T hosts many features including: Configurable Firewall with NAT, Mac & IP Address filtering, Denile of Service (DoS) Prevention, Dynamic DNS, built-in DHCP server and port forwarding. *If you have no idea what any of this stuff is, don't worry its for advanced users and you will probably never need to fiddle with these features.
Overall the G624T is one of the best wireless modem routers on the market, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of setting up wireless at home! or the office! Top marks to D-Link, It is worth its weight in gold.

Bought this item cheaper in currys and came with wireless adapter which was very good value for money. Instruction manual not much cop as only took you through the first two stages of installation though guy on phone at D Link really helpful and talked us through it. The DSL-G624T wireless ADSL router is a versatile, high-speed remote router for home and the small office. With integrated ADSL2/2+ supporting up to 24Mbps download speed, firewall protection, Quality of Service (QoS), 802.11g wireless LAN and 4 Ethernet switch ports, this router provides all the functions that a home or small office needs to establish a secure and high-speed remote link to the outside world. The DSL-G624T features the latest ADSL2/ADSL2+ standards, providing speeds of up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (ADSL2+), or 12Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (ADSL2). This router auto-senses the connection type and auto-negotiates the best modulation scheme, using the G.hs (handshake) protocol. The DSL-G624T provides an integrated 802.11g WLAN supporting wireless speeds of up to 54Mbps and interoperability with 802.11b wireless devices on the 2.4GHz frequency band. It also provides four 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch ports for ready workstations connection. These built-in functions save you the cost and trouble of installing a separate wireless access point and an Ethernet switch. The router provides firewall security using Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and hacker attack logging for Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection. SPI inspects the contents of all incoming packet headers before deciding what packets are allowed to pass through. Access control is provided with packet filtering based on port and source/destination MAC/IP addresses. With Virtual Server Mapping, the router can be set to allow separate FTP, Web, and multiple games to share the same Internet-visible IP address while still protecting your servers and workstations from hackers. You can configure any of the built-in LAN ports of the router to function as a DMZ port. VPN pass-through is provided to let mobile users access files and mail from offices to work at home without having to use complex VPN client software. The DSL-G624T supports 4 priority queues to enable a group of home or office users to experience the benefit of smooth network connection of inbound and outbound data without concern of traffic congestion. This QoS support allows you to enjoy high ADSL transmission for applications such as VoIP, multimedia and on-line games over the Internet.
