I have owned, sold and setup many routers over past year, the home wireless age is truly here.
D-Link have now brought us the G624T!, At almost half the size of the previous models and now featuring a vertical stand, D-Link have certanly set the bar high.
For many home users, the idea of setting up a wireless modem router may be scary, nothing could be simpler here because as usual D-Link have provided a very quick and simple method of installing your new router without the need to dial into the router though your browser and spend hours restarting and saving (Belkin!). It is also important to note that the G624T features 'click n connect' technology which in simple terms means that adding clients takes just two clicks!
The G624T hosts many features, such as an integrated firewall for added security, 4 built-in 10/100Base-TX switch ports with auto MDI/MDIX support ( this means you can use either straight-though or cross-over ethernet cables both will work) and 802.11gWireless LAN (up to 54Mbps speed) with 802.11b backwards compatiblity.
The modem,
As usual with D-Link the built-in modem is lighting fast supporting ADSL, ADSL2 and the new faster ADSL2+ broadband connections.
The Wireless,
Good range and very quick client connection times. Luckly the G624T has a removable antenna, so it is possible to replace it with a better antenna for improved range, but I have found that the stock antenna works find for me.
Advanced Users,
When such a device features the words 'easy to setup' us more advanced users tend to shy away, but fear not because the G624T hosts many features including: Configurable Firewall with NAT, Mac & IP Address filtering, Denile of Service (DoS) Prevention, Dynamic DNS, built-in DHCP server and port forwarding. *If you have no idea what any of this stuff is, don't worry its for advanced users and you will probably never need to fiddle with these features.
Overall the G624T is one of the best wireless modem routers on the market, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of setting up wireless at home! or the office! Top marks to D-Link, It is worth its weight in gold.
