Mary Higgins Clark has yet again created another amazing book. In Daddy’s Little Girl Clark takes us to small town USA with your average American Family attempting to provide a healthy stable environment for their children. Dad, a highway patrolman, Mom, a homemaker with two young girls Ellie and Andrea.

Clark bases this story around the main character, Ellie. She is the youngest child in the family who admired her father deeply. But to Ellie, daddy’s favorite was her big teenage sister Andrea. But Ellie did not envy Andrea; in fact they were the best of friends and kept each others secrets. But in the end, one of these secrets would change the whole family’s lives forever.

Andrea was dating the town trouble maker, Rob. Not many of the other teens liked him. Because he was known for causing problems and his wealthy family covering them up. Andrea’s father did not like Rob because he knew of his troubles and the power of the family. One night when Andrea was to be at a friend’s house studying, she went to the garage hideout instead. The hideout was the place where Andrea and her friends would sometimes meet to smoke cigarettes or where Andrea would meet Rob in secret. Well, that night Andrea didn't come home, for someone had taken her life in the hideout. No one knew where she was except for Ellie and the killer.

So, without giving the entire book away. Ellie spends the rest of her life living with the guilt that she knew where Andrea was. She always blames herself for not telling Andreas secret that night. But now, 25 years later, the killer is being released from prison and he is trying to place blame on someone else. Ellie then puts everything she has into proving that the same person killed her sister so many years ago. This need to provide the truth, puts Ellies own life in danger when the killer, now comes after her!

That is all I am going to give you about this book. But I do recommend it. It is a very good read and right from the start Clark draws you into Ellies world and holds you there until the end! I bought this book from a Shopette on a military base for $7.00, and to me it was very well worth it.
