Advantages: excellent reception, simple set-up, reliability Disadvantages: not gorgeous to look at
...Several months ago I got rid of my Sky family pack subscription after realising I was paying a ridiculous amount of money each month and only watching free-to-view channels anyway. Sky duly banished, off I went to get myself a freeview set top box. After a nasty experience with the cheapest I could find (a Mitsubishi that didn't work properly from day one and also interfered with my terrestrial channels and video), I got myself a Daewoo Setpal and haven't looked back.
LOOKS
The Daewoo Setpal is about 3 inches high, 10 inches wide and 7 deep, and comes in a silver coloured plastic-type material. It isn't the most t beautiful or expensive looking piece of equipment, but then no set top boxes are, and it's not so ugly that you have to hide it away either. Advantages: Great value for money Disadvantages: Lost signal now and again
...As someone who lives a busy life i feel that paying a monthly fee for Sky, NTL etc is not worth my while as i watch very little TV. As a result i decided a one of payment for Freeview to be my best option.
I bought my Daewoo freeview box in Tesco's for £49.95 about a year and a half ago now and have been very happy with my purchase. The box was incredibly easy to set up, via connection through a scart cable. Within ten minutes of opening the packaging my freeview box was up and running after following the on-screen instructions.
The selection of channels on the freeview service is enough for my needs. Amongst others you get BBC3 & 4, ITV2 & 3, three 24 hour news channels, 2 childrens channels, 2 music channels, several shopping channels and almost every radio station possible. There are also new channels being added...

...A belated birthday present resulted in a new reciever/ recorder for our digital sky T.V. Swanky looking in silver and black it does more than just recieve and record our programmes, it adds a touch of class to our living room. Being at one of the top range appliances as regards digital viewing devices this little box of joy purches above (or below if you have a fance television rack) your T.V.

It came boxed and wrapped in polystrene wrapping, complete with al the cables, wires and even a remote sealed in plastic clear bag packaging and secured with twisty wires.
