Advantages: Cheap to buy, easily maintained. Disadvantages: Bumpers are easily damaged.
We have owned three of these and can't fault them, Good performance and plenty of room inside with a big plus that they are reliable and are cheap to repair and maintain.
I would go for the Aircon model for when the sun does actually shine and it should not cost you much more for extras such as CD player alloy wheels etc.
The estate versions are a particularly good workhorse with a large easy accessible load area with the split rear seats folded down,
As an ex mechanic I reckon the engines are good for over 200,000 miles if they get regular oil and filter changes. Servicing is straightforward if you are a DIY fan.
All in all I can't fault the Mondeo for a reasonably priced family car or in the estate version a dual purpose vehicle for the small businessman/Tradesman ...

A belated birthday present resulted in a new reciever/ recorder for our digital sky T.V. Swanky looking in silver and black it does more than just recieve and record our programmes, it adds a touch of class to our living room. It came boxed and wrapped in polystrene wrapping, complete with al the cables, wires and even a remote sealed in plastic clear bag packaging and secured with twisty wires. Advantages: Very compact versatile unit Disadvantages: Charcoal is no colourway choice for the bedroom
as a playback machine that CAN record if pushed, pressing it into service when there are two simultaneous programmes worth recording (a VERY rare circumstance in my opinion)
*After what I read about the energy wasted in the UK by TV’s on standby, I wouldn’t dare!
One other very minor niggle – single-digit channels (i.e. all of the main ones), take an eternity to change via the remote control, until you get the knack of preceding them with a zero to make them two-digit,) 01 for BBC1 etc.
Reliability has been fine – lucky I didn’t get talked into the extra Dixon’s warranty – it would have been money down the drain!
Reasonably priced and reliable? That’ll be the DAEWOO! ...
