Equipment: - For the lowest priced Lanos it comes with what a good range of equipment: - central locking (which also includes the boot), immobiliser, stereo RDS radio and cassette (with auto replay), theft insurance for the radio cassette, key registration scheme, anti-theft registration scheme and even a light in the boot.
One Year on: - The car has just had its 10,000-mile service, with no problems at all, and at no cost to me.
Feelings and failing of the car: - Nothing major, the petrol consumption is reasonable, although slightly worse than the Sunny, (especially during town driving). The major failing I find is that the face level ventilation does not have individual control.
I would certainly recommend this car to potential purchasers, especially as the price has now been reduced by £500.

...the paper advertising the new Daewoo Matiz and the excellent deals that Daewoo offer. So, my husband and I went along to our nearest outlet and found the staff to be extremely helpful. We were taken for a test drive in the Matiz, and once we started to look at the prices of the Lanos, we asked to test drive it too. It only took us 24 hours to make up our minds to buy one, and we went back and placed our order the next day.
Deposits can be as little ... ...flat. I called the Daewoo customer services line, who in turn contacted the AA who arrived at my door in 20 minutes (wow!) and fixed the problem temporarily in 10 minutes. I then booked the car into the Daewoo outlet to have the problem fixed, which it was within a couple of hours, during which time I had the use of a courtesy car. Advantages: Never fails to start Disadvantages: Bits fall off on a regular basis
I bought my Lanos in march 1998. She never fails to start in the morning and thats great. But ask me would I have another when this has had it's lot then the answer would have to be a resounding NO!
Within the first 12 months I have had replaced, 1 dashboard-cracked,2 badges-stolen, 2 registration plates-fell off on a very hot day because the glue melted, 2 radios-faulty,2 speakers-faulty, 1 hatch lock-faulty,1 window winder-fell off. I could go ...
...and I was informed by Daewoo that this was driver abuse (after a WEEK?!!)The syteering pulls to the left and always has but my local Daewoo agent has no facilities to check this, a check requires a 130 mile round trip! All in all, to paraphrase the company's own advertising. Have another Lanos? That will be the Daewoo!! ...

Where Daewoo do score over other dealers is in the servicing package, which is included in the purchase price, and apart from a most unpleasant receptionist at our local centre, I can't fault them. ...
