As you can probably imagine, I don't own a Daewoo Lanos 1.5 as I am only 14/15, however my dad does and as I am usually the only person to go in the car with him I thought I'd write an opinion on it.

Firstly, it seems a very small and compact car with not much room, yes it is, but don't all good things come in small packages? It is very misleading as you can get a lot of stuff into the boot and there is even more room if you pull down the back seats. ... ...going to need and the Daewoo Lanos suits it perfectly.
Another benefit of this car is that the engine is shockingly quiet and you can very easily drop off to sleep as a passenger if you feel like it (this does not suggest that the driver can). Also even though it seems small on the outside it is very cosy inside once you get used to it, there is even room to lay out across the back!! (I'm lazy!).

My dad and I managed to get a whopping 6 octave electric keyboard and stand in it! (for those of you who aren't musically educated 6 octaves is about 2 metres lengthways approx.)Also we are about to go to Kenya for 2 weeks so you can iamgine how much luggage space we are going to need and the Daewoo Lanos suits it perfectly.

This is an amazingly reliable car considering its age and the fact that it is made by Daewoo (no offence intended there) as it has not broken down once since we have had it and that has been about 1 1/2 to 2 years now.
There isn't really much to comment on with this car except that it is very relaible, cheap, shockingly spacious and cosy. Wouldn't you just love to have a car like that? Well for around about £5000 you can. Now go buy that car today!

I don't know why some people are aggresive against this car.

I'm sure that no one has i real reason to say that about this car.

Quick review of Daewoo Lanos 1.5
I got my Daewoo 5 years ago and im so glad to find the fool who bought it from me. this car has the worst suspensions ever, if u exceed the 100 KM/hr speed then you are considering suicide.
When i got this car, the first day i hit the road, i hear weird sounds coming from the exhaust system..man that sucks!!!. I asked the dealer he said that its a common manufacturing error in the car and there is nothing to do about..
I got the Brakes pipe broken, i couldn't find it any where.
My Truly honest advice never ever buy a Daewoo. ...

Advantages: Plenty of car for the money Disadvantages: New dealer network is patchy
We bought our 1.6 Lanos second hand direct from Daewoo - it was 5 months old, had under 1000 miles on the clock and still had "new car smell". In the five years we have owned it, it has mostly given us trouble free motoring, largely due to the 3 year warranty on fixed price servicing that Daewoo UK used to offer.
The only real trouble we've had has been with the timing belt, which I'm told is always a problem with these GM-based engines. Ours snapped at 30k miles, taking out all the vales and the cylinder head. Daewoo UK (now defunct) were very good, fixing the whole thing under warranty, throwing in the 30k service and giving us a courtesy car for two weeks while they did it!
Unfortunately, when GM bought Daewoo Motors they didn't want the UK subsidary, and so it was allowed to go bust and GM-Daewoo just started up a chain ...
