Adjustable steering wheel position
Electric windows
Central locking

Thats not a bad starting spec ... ...driving in, not sure why Daewoo decided to put that feature in but its still a nice touch.
Boot space is large enough to fit all your weekly shopping in and more besides, drivers and front passengers legroom are more than ample but rear legroom is a tad short, like with all cars you can pull the front seats forward to increase rear legroom so im perhaps being slighlty over critical in this area but i felt i should mention it nonetheless. more

Thats not a bad starting spec now is it?
Well its all well and good having all those mod cons but does the car drive well, maintain well and is it good on fuel?
Well yes to 2 of those, the car is an absolute dream to drive with its incredibly light steeing and smooth automatic gearbox, the car just glides across the tarmac and is a pleasure to drive, maintenance has been minimal for me, i have cleaned the fuel system out with Wynns extreme total fuel system cleaner and had the standard regular services which included oil change etc but apart from that the car has been very trouble free, now the slight downer... its not as good on fuel for me as others have experienced, i estimate (roughly) that around town im getting about 31 MPG and on a run around mid 30's per gallon, now whilst this is quite acceptable for an automatic i would dearly love to have 10% added to that to put the icing on the cake.
The engine is a fuel injected 1.5i which offers sufficient power, the automatic gearbox is probably the best ive ever owned in a car, the gears change very smoothly indeed and theres even a digital display on the dashboard which tells you what gear you are currently driving in, not sure why Daewoo decided to put that feature in but its still a nice touch.
The car itself is more or less a Vauxhall Astra of old, this is both good and bad in regrads to visuals as the older Astras were fine at the time but for a newer car to use the same old shape body of a dated car like the Astra might not be to everyones tastes, i however dont mind one jot.
Insurance is a massive bonus for this car and if i recall correctly the group insurance is only 5 compared to a Ford Escort of group 7 (higher numbers denote higher cost to insure) so insuring the Daewoo Nexia is a great bonus especially considering all the features this car has.
This is not the fastest car you will ever drive, it comfortably reaches the speeds you will want to do but dont expect to be leaving any BMW's standing still at the lights, the cars hadling was perhaps the first thing that really impressed me in terms of drivership, it really stuck to the road like glue especially whilst cornering with no noticable over/under steering at all.
Interior is basic whilst not being sparse, all the controls are where you would expect to find them and in easy reach, simplistic is perhaps the best word to describe the interior which is not a criticism at all.
Rear seatbelts come as standard 3 in the rear) and as said earlier theres sufficient room at the rear for passengars but i wouldnt want to be a 6 foot guy sitting behind the driver on a 100 mile trip somewhere...
If i am to be particulary picky then i would like to mention that the rear quarter windows on this 3 door hatchback are quite small which makes for slightly impaired vision when looking over your left shoulder to check for other traffic, smaller drivers than myself (im 5ft 9'') may have a little difficulty unless they removed both the drivers and front passengers head rests in order to free up a little more observation room, that aside the car is almost perfect and a pleasure to own and drive.
Thats about all i can think of for this my first review, i hope i dont come across as biased at all, i do love my Daewoo, it has performed admirably for me and like most cars these days theres good and bad in all brands (but we often only hear about the bad as people feel obliged to tell the world just how bad thier car is, no offence to previous reviews)
I give my Nexia two thumbs up, its an exceptional car which drives well and looks good despite its slightly dated body panelling... thanks for reading.
Advantages: Large boot, resonsive and perky engine, reliability Disadvantages: Poor support, no manual (well there is but its £120!!!!)
...not enough nexias about apparently! Daewoo do offer the technical service manual but it costs £120 !!! A bit much but would be very useful. If anyone has one they could let me copy I'd pay you a fair fee!!! Servicing is now done via vauxhall so not too many problems there. Parts are usually available as they are based on an old astra model. Cosmetics are a little more difficult to come by.
All in all a good solid car that is actually quite quick ... ...definietly the ones to go for. Get one with good service history and under 40k and you'll have a reliable, fully featured car for under £1500. They are usually totally rust free to which is a major bonus. they have all the perks as mentioned above and are generally nice to drive.
If you can pick a decent one up and give it a loving home, you'll be very happy! ...

Advantages: good little family car huge boot for all that shopping Disadvantages: too many things
Thought we were getting a great deal on our N reg car bought in 1995, cost £9,899 with optional extras ( electric sunroof and alarm ). We had the 1.5gli saloon as it accomodated my families needs. Standard fittings included a ski hatch ( avid ski family we are not!) but not interior clock. Very basic interior but a relativley comfortable ride. Car came with three years service warranty and the work had to be carried out at a Halfords service center ... ...the car for 1 year the sunroof stopped working when it was opened,s o we had to manually close it by a key. Then the alarm began to go off when it pleased itself, both problems were fixed but continued to happen three new alars later and now the sunroof refused to open or shut we gave up having them fixed after the three year warranty had run out.
As the car got a bit older it began to break down, for no apperent reason it would just stop (not good ...

Advantages: Very nice when you go to buy Disadvantages: No customer service
My mother bought a Daewoo, mores to the pity, she has done 18000 miles in her daewoo, she bought it from new, it's 12 months out of the warranty period and the crank shaft is shot, the head gasket has blown and numerous other major problems.
The car has only ever been serviced by Daewoo, when the engine management light came on, mother took the car to Daewoo, they said it was nothing to worry about, huh what did they know, they didn't investigate ... ...been told to scrap the car, she called Daewoo, thier response was that it was out of warranty and told her to go away, the car has only done 18'000 miles, most people would do that in 14 months or so. After this we have spoken to numerous people all of whom have bought cars from Daewoo, they too have been told to go away, even the people who's vehicles are still under warranty.
A little advice, DO NOT BUY DAEWOO, go and read a few more opinions ...

Advantages: cheap, agile Disadvantages: HIGH fuel consumption, heavy gearbox & steering
I happen to own this car (the GLE) and I can say i'm fairly pleased with it. As i'm from Romania, it cannot be said that it's the same as UK :)). I spent 3900 EUR on it (second hand) and then i did some minor repairs to it for about 400 EUR. It's smooth when you want it and if you hit the gas it makes a nice noise for its 4 cylinders. The interior gives you a cheap feeling and it's not too spacious. The steering wheel is too low and you hit your ... ...1,5 L petrol version and it EATS the fuel, about 10L/100km urban (that's 23,67 mpg) which is a lot for 4 cyl, 1,5 L. The ride is fairly confortable, but the steering and the gearbox are a bit heavy. For your safety you get no more than the seatbelts. Other features include electrical windows, power steering (hardly), air conditioned and that's about it. It's known to have some problems with the brake pump after a while. Overall it a reasonably priced ...

We have owned new Daewoos for the past 6 years, and have been very pleased with the excellent Daewoo deal. Can you name another car manufacturer who will offer 3 years warranty with 3 years free servicing plus free courtesy car, 3 years AA cover etc.? Our first new Daewoo was a Nexia, and we changed that after 3 years for a new Lanos. We have been delighted with both cars, and particularly with the excellent service from Daewoo. We were most fortunate to receive 3 years free insurance with our first car too, which saved us around £1000!
Daewoo is the best deal around ! ...

--Background--
We bought this car as a second car, two years ago. Previously, my wife had had the DaewooNexia for over 3 years with very little problems. We knew that Daewoo offered us no thrills but we also liked the smooth ride it gave. In the end we settled on a 51 reg CDX which set up back £4000.
--From the outside--
For those of you that are not aware, the Tacuma is classed as an MPV. I would say the shape is now slightly dated and I would liken the shape to the Renault Scenic. This model comes with the roof bars as standard and alloy wheels.
--From the drivers seat--
Road visibility is very good as you are higher up than a normal car. Saying that, I can not see the end of the bonnet from the drivers position. I am 5ft 10 so maybe someone significantly taller would not have a problem. The dashboard certainly ...

Advantages: cheap, strong, lot of space. Disadvantages: Heavy, 1.6ltr engine might not do, not really beautiful
Every year we travel at least twice to the south of France since that is where my wife's parents live, close to Marseille. When we didn't have any children we had enough room in our DaewooNexia for our entire luggage and our two pets, a cat and a dog. But now we have two children and, well, to make a long story short ?? we need a lot of room to take everything and everybody down south. So we kept our eyes open for a bigger car.
One and a half year ago my wife saw a big Daewoo Nubira Wagon 2.0 CDX 1998 for sale. Again a Daewoo? Yes, because the Nexia we had was the first make out of five that never had any major problem. Veni-Vidi-gotcha-. We went, we saw and we decided to buy the car, since it was a bargain. It had gone 60.000 kilometres until then. And compared to the other cars we had before, this car is very complete. It has ...
