Daewoo Nubira X Series

Advantages: Cheap to run
Disadvantages: none that I have found as yet

I have bought a Daewoo Nubira X series and have found the car to be a very inexpensive car to run on petrol which is a very big plus in the way the price of Petrol is going these days as I can get roughly around 700klms out of a tank of petrol and that not doing any sort of distance driving. Atfer taking the car on a long haul to North Queensland last year and was averaging around 850klms to a tank so thought that was reasonable as well. I have had ...
...just as good on power as those two other cars so that is saying something as far as I am concerned at least.
As I have only had the car since last September I haven't found any disadvantages at this stage but would highly recommand this car to a small family as it has plenty of room inside to seat 5 people comfortably.

Customer service not so hot

Advantages: Nice car easy to run
Disadvantages: Customer service

...For those who dont know Daewoo usually work out of a Halfords they dont have many stand alone premises. I went in to Halfords spoke to the Daewoo rep and booked the car in for a service and boat repair the next week. I asked how they were managing (Daewoo had had alot of financial problems) and was told there was no problem General Motors were taking over the firm and the future was secure. I duly took the car in this Monday and the Halfords people ...
...upkeep was paid for by Daewoo they couldnt repair it as they didnt know wether they would get their money back or not. The also told me that several other people were due to come in for services and they too were going to have problems. I find it incredible that noone contacted me to inform me of any ofthis. I contacted Daewoo and now have the car booked in but not for 2 weeks Ihave to travel a significant distance to get this done and all in all ...

Economical !!

Advantages: Spacious from inside, chaper to run
Disadvantages: Noisy

Daewoo nubira is one of the medium size car with not to jazzy features. But it serves the purpose from going A to B. its very spacious from inside and has a good visibility. Sometimes its noisy and engine sound is tedious to handle specially on the motorway when roads are adding up more noise. The best feature i like in this car is to set the frequency of the wiper in the intermediate state. This is very handy specially when it is not raining cats ...
...so that it does not overrun or underrun and hence avoiding the frustration of getting wiper in between when it is not requried. The body work is very good as i have experienced couple of bumps from the car behind me and the only thing was little bit of colour came off. The body wasnt damaged in any way. cool !! Overall, its good car to drive. Nice and big from inside but sometimes because of 1.6 engine, it struggled when loaded. The best value ...

My first OWN car!

Advantages: Large fuel tank, very comfortable, good drive
Disadvantages: A bulky car

The Daewoo Nubira is the first car that was my own car - no sharing! One big advantage of the Daewoo Nubira is that it is very spacious. You can easily fit three adults in the back - they don't have to be skinny! - without them being squashed, unlike most cars that claim to be five-seaters. The downside of this is that the Nubira is a bulky car, on the outside - when I first drove it I felt like I was taking up the whole road... The Daewoo also ...
...in retail therapy, or if your family likes to eat alot... It seems everything about the Nubira was designed with LARGE in mind. This car also has a very large tank - it can hold over fifty pounds worth of fuel (tho' due to price rises, that's not as much as it used to be...) and, even better, this fuel lasts a long time. I rarely have ot refill my car. All in all, if you need a spacious five-seater, and don't mind having a bit of a 'bigger' car, ...

Daewoo? why Daewoo? or why not....

Advantages: cheap, strong, lot of space.
Disadvantages: Heavy, 1.6ltr engine might not do, not really beautiful

Every year we travel at least twice to the south of France since that is where my wife's parents live, close to Marseille. When we didn't have any children we had enough room in our Daewoo Nexia for our entire luggage and our two pets, a cat and a dog. But now we have two children and, well, to make a long story short ?? we need a lot of room to take everything and everybody down south. So we kept our eyes open for a bigger car. One and a half year ago my wife saw a big Daewoo Nubira Wagon 2.0 CDX 1998 for sale. Again a Daewoo? Yes, because the Nexia we had was the first make out of five that never had any major problem. Veni-Vidi-gotcha-. We went, we saw and we decided to buy the car, since it was a bargain. It had gone 60.000 kilometres until then. And compared to the other cars we had before, this car is very complete. It has ...

A well equipped, useful, budget car

Advantages: Cheap, well equipped, useful car
Disadvantages: Slightly rough feel to the drive

I received my Nubira as a company car over four years ago and in that time have driven it over 60,000 miles. I did not get a choice about which car I would receive and was a little nervous when I was told what I would be getting, not knowing much about Daewoo at that time. To my surprise, the Nubira was very well equipped and, with the exception of the problem outlined below, has been very reliable. The basic spec of the Nubira includes: Air conditioning; ABS (Anti-lock braking system); Power steering; Driver and passenger air bags; Electric front windows; Alarm and Immobiliser; RDS radio / cassette; Remote central locking of all doors and boot; Heated, electrically operated door mirrors; Height adjustable drivers seat. The rear seats fold forward in 60 / 40 fashion, giving a wide range of luggage / passenger carrying ...

A Korean Cracker

Advantages: Lot of car for the money
Disadvantages: Not a lot of prestige

~ ~ A relative newcomer to the market, the Korean built Daewoo Nubira competes favourably on price and specification with both its Japanese and European cousins. There are four cars in the range, the 1.6 S.E. and the 2.0 C.D.X. saloons, and the estate versions of the same. All of the Nubira’s similarly-engined competitors are much more expensive. Its main opposition would be the Vectra, Mondeo, Primera, and Avensis, but it is significantly cheaper than them all. ~ ~ Daewoo cars were at one time based on the cast-off designs of General Motors, but that’s not true any more. They are totally engineered and designed by the Korean manufacturer, and to very exacting standards indeed. So what about the drivability? It is a refined and comfortable car, with good performance and excellent fuel economy. The specifications are ...
