Advantages Advantages Cheap to buy, cheerful to look at, paractical and safe to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Space isn't abundant and it's quite heavy on fuel

If you really want a Disco, Landcruiser or Shogun, then don't bother with this. But if you don't want a bland little hatchback, try a Terios for the same sort of money. It's no sports car, and it's not really up to mud-plugging. However you'll feel safe and secure under all 'normal' conditions, and it's better in the snow and rain than many. It's good for routine travel for a small family (i.e. 2 big uns and 2 little uns), but bigger kids, or adults might get squeezed. I'd also be wary about taking it on a long, motorway journey heavily laden, but I've done 500 mile trips on my own in it, and ... more

    Advantages Advantages good visibility

Disadvantages Disadvantages small engines, not good in highway, tends to rool ever during hard cornering

I've use this car for about a year. But the manufacturing is by PERODUA. This version might be slightly different from europen specs by DAIHATSU. It's kind of good car to be use in town and easy offroading. I use it few times for offroading on a mudy and rocky hill area- following a freind to his brother tropical fruit plantation area- not really vast. He is using Suzuki Jimny. The Terios is quite good in offroading although I'm using an auto version. this gave advantages for full hand in streering. I use to travel about 500km for 7 hours journey going back home to my parents house. the road ... more

Advantages Advantages Overall visibility ,room, height, interior layout.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly higher insurance group and petrol consumption.

After a long search for a 4X4 for our growing family we were pleasantly surprised to come across our Terios. As well as being well within our budget it also fulfilled every criteria my wife had set. I think that as an off road car the Terios would not perhaps stand up to a Land Rover, however it handles very well and as my wife says it gives her a sense of security because of its height and the feel that it is significantly bigger than the Punto, Corsa etc. The kids (15 & 10) also love it for the extra room they get in the back and because they can recline the rear seats. The rear door rather ... more

Advantages Advantages Compact strong handles good in off road and in town

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit noisy in high speeds

I am reading all this negative reviews and wondering if i am driving the same car, i recently bought a 2002 model Daihatsu terios 1.3 automatic but produced from Toyota in fact is same excpet the stamp of the company. For me driving this car is nothing more than a pleasant expirience, in town is convinient and handy in the narrow roads and very easy to park. In highways it accelarates quite easy for its engine going to 120km and just 3500 revs on the clock with no problem. Bit noisy i aggre but isnt most 4X4 high cars (except some realy luxurious models) bit noisy cause of tires and absortion ... more

Advantages Advantages High, Stylish and Smart

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cramped, heavy on petrol, overheating problems

Recently I purchased a Daihatsu Terios 1.3 Limited Edition Automatic. Of course with just a 1.3ltr engine I expected it to be reasonably cheap to run, however, I was wrong. The car drinks petrol doing approximately 50 miles to £10.00 (Not Good). The terios is also very deceaving. From the outside it looks big, however, inside is small and cramped with little room to move. I found the automatic gear box to be very sluggish and hard to move off at speed. The car also produced a loud sound when travelling between 60 - 70 mph. Parts and labour is also very expensive on this vehicle as it is a rare ... more
