Fluttering Fluff (The Rainbow Magic series - Daisy Meadows)

Advantages: girly girls will like it, not as bad as some books coming in such collections
Disadvantages: money-spinning emptinesss

Daisy Meadows is a pen name for a consortium of authors who produce the endless series of "Rainbow Magic" sets of fairy books. All the books bear the rainbow logo. Slightly confusingly, the first set of seven books was about the Rainbow Fairies.

As for now, the franchise covers more than 80 books in sets, each comprising seven books, plus several one-off specials (usually connected with holidays or Christmas. Everything below ...
...the Rainbow Magic series by Daisy Meadows.

There are, indeed, Rachel and Kirsty, a couple of girls aged about 8-9 who get to have magical adventures in which indeed they help fairies harassed by Jack Frost and those nasty goblins of his.

The books come in sets, each one with seven sub-stories. There is a Rainbow Fairies series, the Weather Fairies, Party Fairies, Pet Keeper Fairies, Jewel Fairies; Magical Animal Fairies, ... more

Amber the Orange Fairy - Daisy Meadows

Advantages: Magical Storyline, Lovely pictures, easy to read
Disadvantages: Flimsy paperback publication and is part of a series

All the books in the rainbow fairies series are aimed at a reading target group of girls aged 4-8 years old. This is about preschool to year 3 when they are just getting to know the basic structure of sentences and learning to recognise the longer words. These books are really great for any glitter girls to encourage them to read as the storyline and the appearance of the shiny cover motivates them to pick up the book and explore the pages. I shall be reviewing this second book in the series: Amber the orange fairy. COST: £3.99 FORMAT: Paperback PUBLISHED: may 2003 PLACE OF PURCHASE: Waterstones PUBLISHERS: Orchard books AUTHOR: Daisy Meadows PAGES: 80 Cover: An attractive shiny front cover with a watercolour themed cartoon of Amber the orange fairy on the front and ocre orange clouds pattern which extends to the backcover ...

Review of Amber the Orange Fairy - Daisy Meadows

Ruby the Red Fairy - by Daisy Meadows

Advantages: Filled with pictures on everypage, lovely story & characters
Disadvantages: one in a series, and is a paperback

Thanks to Hannah my niece, we have the entire colection of rainbow fairies books, the first in the series is this one. A story all about Ruby the red fairy. COST: £3.99 FORMAT: Paperback PUBLISHED: may 2003 PLACE OF PURCHASE: Waterstones PUBLISHERS: Orchard books AUTHOR: Daisy Meadows PAGES: 80 Cover: As with all in this range, it's another horid paperback, bends easily, shows creaes, doesn't wipe down easily and the corners start to fray. If you chose to strenghten your book one can suggest some to prolong a 'new' look and to help prevent frayed and upturned corners. Full colour fairy illustrations, and adorned with red foil sparkle, it appeals to the little girls whilst catching the light in book stores. Story: The series of books tells the story of the Rainbow fairies. Each book concentrates on the background ...

Review of Ruby the Red Fairy - Daisy Meadows

Fern the Green Fairy - Daisy Meadows Paperback

Advantages: magical storyline, lovely characters
Disadvantages: flimsy cover, pictures not in colour inside the book

COST: £3.99 FORMAT: Paperback PUBLISHED: may 2005 PLACE OF PURCHASE: Waterstones PUBLISHERS: Orchard books AUTHOR: Daisy Meadows PAGES: 80 Fourth book in the Rainbow Magic series, fern the green fairy. Kirsty and Rachels collection of fairies is growing and as the numbers increase so so the number of problems they are encountering. This installment is no disappointment, the adventure continues as yet another delightful fairy is added to the characters list. Cover: Argh, horrid paperback which soon creases and looks extremely tatty - making one wish I had invested in some sticky back plastic so I don't feel all grubby when I pick the manky things up and put them back in the bookshelf. Story: Rainbow magic series tells the tales of Fairyland which is home to seven colorful sisters. Together, they are the Rainbow Fairies ...
