on an egg for Daisy's mum, and young Daisy can't
wait for her  new brother or sister to be born.
But when all three of Aunt Buttercup's eggs hatch,

Mama's egg, and helps keep it  warm even when

together they  watched the sun rise on Little
Pip's hatching day." Young children will love the

of course the fact that Daisy doesn't give up on

Advantages: A popular character and beautifully illustrated.
Disadvantages: The use of 'Mamma' rather than Mummy or Mammy!

...was, utterly exhaused.' - Daisy and the Egg - The story begins with Daisy the duckling asking how many eggs her Auntie Buttercup is sitting on. Four comes the reply, one of which is Daisy's Mummy's egg. Not wanting to feel left out Daisy asks if she can sit on an egg to nurture it but it proved extremely difficult, given her size in relation to the egg so instead Daisy visits her Auntie each day with food. During her visits she listens to the ...

On the day of 'hatching' they all look on as the babies struggle to get out until the first one comes out whereupon Daisy declares that it looks disgusting! Daisy's three cousins are born but her Mummy's egg still hasn't hatched. Her Mummy tells her that they don't always hatch and she should play with her cousins.
