Stop making that big face!
Review of Aphex Twin by kilmurray

Advantages: Mind meltingly moist noise
Disadvantages: Mind melts

...info; Richard D. James, aka Aphex Twin, grew up in Cornwall, England. He spent his lazy Sunday afternoons pulling apart electronic devices and recording music. He even spent some time driving around the country side in a decommissioned tank. To add to what somepeople may see as lunacy, he played at one gig scratching a record needle over sandpaper followed by dropping his microphone in a blender. After being signed to numerous labels, he began ...
...an orchestral version of an Aphex Twin song. He excels in Acid, Break, I.D.M (Intelligent Dance Music), Ambiance and Experimental and through his work on Aphex Twin, was one of the most critically acclaimed electronic artists of the 90’s. What to go for first? The ‘Come to Daddy EP’ released in 97 is probably one of the better albums to take you into the sounds of Aphex Twin. It includes the astounding heavy break beat track ‘Come to Daddy’, which ... Read review

Advantages: Great Songs
Disadvantages: none

...about the Band. The Band Royksopp were reformed in 1998 after a few years apart trying to get a singles title. The songs Eple and Poor Leno were released in 2001 and are now used on a number of Tv channels or Clubs. The Album "Melody Am" appeared in shops in the late summer of 2001 classed as a chilling out album. It can now be bought from shops for about £6 i rate the band a 7/10 they need to release more songs for my liking to gain a higher ... Read review

...so soon the link for jay-jay johanson when i asked for it. The Chemical Brothers: Legends
Review of The Chemical Brothers by x_helix_x

Advantages: Constantly Pushing the Boundaries with their music
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

The Chemical Brothers The Chemical Brothers are Tom and Ed; over the past 10 years they have built a reputation of being one of the biggest and most innovative dance bands in the world. It all began in 1989 in Manchester when they met whilst studying History. The pair both shared a love of music, not just of the of the emerging dance music that was taking over Britain but of rock, soul, hiphop and funk. Before they started recording music they began ...
...They played at legendary club, The Hacienda and just about everywhere else they could. In all didn't take off until the pair entered the studio in 1992, this is where they would really find their feet. In 1992 they produced a song called "Song to Siren" which found its away into Djs sets throughout the country most noteably of Andrew Wetherall. He loved the big bass, breakbeats, it was something he had never heard before but he loved it. He eagerly ... Read review

You Blade Runner?
Review of Vangelis by bergmcberg

Advantages: Spacey Chill out music!
Disadvantages: a bit dated nowadays

Tracklisting: - Main Titles - Blush Response - Wait For Me - Rachel's Song - Love Theme - One More Kiss, Dear - Blade Runner Blues - Memories Of Green - Tales Of The Future - Damask Rose - Blade Runner (End Titles) - Tears In Rain There isn't a specific listing for which record is meant here, but as it is under the electronica section, I chose this album to review. I don't know everything about the man, but it is fair to say he was a ...
...scores and more conventional music only works. As you will have seen from the above, this is a soundtrack to a great film of a great book. "Blade Runner" Given a slightly catchier title by the films producers - the book was called "Do Androids dream of electric sheep", the film was a huge success and this it's soundtrack must account for at least a part of this, because it is so distinctive. (Particularly when the date of its composition and recording ... Read review
