... Well, here is a new water to the market and this one is one to make a fuss about – especially if you are made to drink the stuff! Danone Activ came onto the market not too long ago and immediately jumped to number 8 in the bestseller’s list for bottled water. So, what makes ... Read review

Chalky Water

AdvantagesCould be a way of getting more calcium into certain people's diets

DisadvantagesTastes dry

"...fortified with calcium! The Danone scientists will have us believe that one litre of Activ contains the same amount of calcium as 2 glass of milk. Two glasses of milk though totals 250ml in Danone’s eyes…pretty small glasses! Nevertheless, the National Osteoporosis Society has endorsed this product in the fight against osteoporosis. Despite the reported benefits of drinking this over normal water I cannot recommend it. Danone also make ..." Read review

"ummmm danone" part two

AdvantagesHigh in calcium

DisadvantagesHas an unusual after taste

"After seeing all the danone adverts for a range of their products, i thought i'd might as well try each one and see if they do what they say. So here's my review on Danone Activ' - the water enriched with calcium. ** What is Danone Activ' ** Danone claim that their new Activ' drink is a water fortified with calcium and is a good alternative if you don't drink milk. It also comes in blackcurrant, apple and orange flavours. It really couldn't ..." Read review

Lemon or chalk with your water

Advantagesadded calcium

Disadvantagesyou have to drink a litre to get the calcium provided by a glass of milk

"...a lot of advertising for Danone Activ products so I thought I might try their water. All is not as it seems. Advertising leads you to believe that you can get the same calcium from a glass of Activ water as you can from a glass of milk. What they fail to make clear is that you need a litre of water to get the same calcium (30mg) as you get from 250mls of milk. If you are drinking this product for its calcium content you would find it cheaper to ..." Read review

a Glass of Water or one of Milk

Advantagesgood for your health

Disadvantageshow to carry it at home with my little arms???

"...Park. So I suppose that Danone use the same brand name because the properties of this water is not linked to its origin but to the addition of calcium. ~ Indeed, it is a refreshing water selected by Danone for its purity and added calcium to benefit all our needs ~ Danone argues that one litre of Activ' provides as much calcium as a 250ml glass of milk. That is why it is so good for each member of the family The bottle ********** ~ it is ..." Read review

The true source of Danone Activ

Advantageshigh in calcium, no fat, good for you

Disadvantagesexpensive & misleading

"...This is what I thought. Danone Activ is one of the most expensive mineral waters available (I've seen it for upto 75p for a 500ml bottle). It tastes just like usual water, so there is no added attraction for taste. Now, with it being so expensive you would expect it to come from a french (or equally exotic) mountain. Don't be fooled. When Danone Activ was being launched I worked for a courier company (ANC) who ship their products around the UK. ..." Read review
