Dansai 701 DVD player

Advantages: DVD/MP3/CDR playback which is good and its cheap
Disadvantages: looks a bit cheap but it does the job

First of all I would like to state that the picture above is quite misleading as the Dansai 701 DVD/MP3/CDR player is much slimmer and stylish than the picture shown on the site here. I believe the picture shown is the first ever 701 model from Dansai and doesn't reflect subsequent upgrades over the years. I have owned 3 DVD players in the last 10 years and all have been made by Dansai, and all have been the 701 models so I feel qualified to give my opinion on what I consider to be the best value for money DVD player on the market. My first purchase in 1998 was £40 at a time when most DVD players retailed in excess of £100 and since I have paid £35 and then £30 for the most recent. Each purchase has lasted and lasted playing DVDs without fault. The earliest model was passed onto a friend, the second onto my nephew and now the cheapest ...

Dansai 1010? Can't be the YEAR it was made..?

Advantages: Cheap in comparison to most other DVD players; fits in with mod cons; plays almost anything
Disadvantages: support (or lack of it); not sure about if it could recover after a knock

One of my latest expenditures on extravagant new technology was on, funnily enough, this Dansai DVD player. It caught my eye whilst I was curiously browsing through the new electronic goodies in my local Tesco Extra store, modestly priced at just under £70. Please note, however, that this was a special offer price and, although you may find this DVD player costing around the same price as I paid, DVD players have seriously decreased in value over the last few months and prices are continuing to fall today. Buying The DVD player came in a sturdy box with appropriate protection surrounding the actual player. As I bought it from Tesco Extra I just picked up the box and took it through the checkout ? it was therefore very simple to buy. If you buy this DVD player from the Internet, however, please be very wary and ensure that your ...

Dansai 952 Dvd player

Advantages: A very good cheap DVD player
Disadvantages: A bit to wide

Firstly I have had to put this opinion in the 852 category as there isn't one for the 952, I thought I would point this out at the beginning. The Dansai 950 is a very practical cheap priced DVD player mine cost me £99.00, I have previously had more expensive machines which seem to behave like primadonas and break down at the drop of a hat,They are also very hard to hack for multi region, unlike the dansai I found a multi region hack very easily on the web and after pushing 4 buttons on the remote it was done (I now buy all my films from America) I have had this player for over a year and it is still going strong. The 952 has all the goodies you expect from the more expensive players. 5:1 Dolby surround sound. Scart socket. S.video socket. Optical line out socket,(to record digital sound to a minidisk recorder or Mp3 recorder). It ...
