Advantages: Interesting concept, unusual writing style Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit slow at first
This is a review originally written for dooyoo.
Intro Having decided that I needed some more books to read I consulted the charity book list at work (books for the bargain price of 25p) and came across "Darkly Dreaming Dexter". I was aware that there is a TV series called "Dexter", so consulted Amazon to see if this was the same thing, and found that it was!
I haven't ever seen the TV programme but have heard good things about it and decided to give the book a go, as I'd found that "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" was the first in the series (I didn't want to come in having missed something) which is what the first series of the TV programme was based upon.

Advantages: An interesting new perspective taking us inside the thought processes of a killer Disadvantages: At times Dexter seems to step out of character
Darkly Dreaming Dexter is a disturbing story that delves deeply into the mind of a killer, namely Dexter Morgan. Alternately macabre and wryly amusing, Jeff Lindsay?s debut novel is a thriller that puts us in touch with the sick reasoning that motivates a person to kill and kill and kill again.
To the outside world, Dexter Morgan is simply a forensic blood spatter expert working with the Miami Police Department. He has a secret ?hobby? he is a serial killer, unable to fight the urge to kill, controlled by an inner voice that he refers to as the Dark Passenger. Thanks to his ...

Some people say the term ?cult? is used far too often?other?s say that the term ?cult? can be used to described Sky Sports very own Soccer Saturday show. Broadcast, intriguingly enough, on Saturday?s during the football season it?s presented by armchair pundit?s favourite Jeff Stelling, and in this book he describes the ins and outs of the show, in humorous fashion.
Published by Harper Collins in April 2009, ?Jelleyman's Thrown a Wobbly: Saturday Afternoons in Front of the Telly? is comedic piece that will make anyone who?s ever seen and enjoyed the show to pick it up and not put it down until the very end. The title refers to the lower league defender Gareth Jelleyman, who after being sent off one afternoon was mentioned by Stelling in the context used in the title?promptly resulting in a ?corpsing? session with the panel where no ...
