Dark Sector (PS3)

Advantages: Great graphics
Disadvantages: Tricky controls

...This is for me the best game out at the moment for the PS3. It has it all great sound grapics and the gameplay is great. The only part that lets it down is the controls, As it was the first time i had to use the analog stick to move around it took awhile to move aim and shoot at same time. One of the primary reasons' that Resistance's plot works so well is because of how effective its atmosphere is. The game is surprisingly creepy and has a decent portion of cheap scares and explorations of dark, winding corridors. Walking through a wasteland of human bodies, avoiding super-fast crawler-things, and reacting to hidden snipers keeps you on your toes at all times... as does the realization that the farther into the game you get, the less human the world becomes.... ...With the few games made for the PS3 opening date it was very hard to find one that you like due to lack of choice. Resistance: Fall of man didn't sound like the kind of game for me however when the game I was planning to get, Tom Clancy's Rainbow six Vegas, wasn't available there was no other shooting game I could find but Resistance. When it arrived although sceptical I put it in the PS3 and realised what a great choice I had made. Resistance is the storyline of an American soldier infected with an alien virus giving him supernatural healing capabilities. He has to fight his way on his own through dark tunnels and other locations which put a chill down your back with a range of high and low-tech weapons to help you. The game itself has good graphics quite a long storyline and a great online feature. It will keep you ammused... Read review

Advantages: GOOD GRAPHICS; FUN GAME
Disadvantages: REPETITIVE LOADING SCREENS!!!!

...I bought this game for £20 and was very pleased. I've seen many reviews elsewhere on this game which haven't had a good word to say about it but I loved it and I was completely hooked for a whole week. First of all the graphics and sound quality are brilliant, very clear, definitely took advantage of the power that the PS3 can provide. Secondly the storyline is great, very interesting, starting off as a young hitman before being taken over by 'The Darkness' which slowly takes over your life but provides you with more and more dark powers as the game moves on which are fun to master. I found the game great to play as the difficulty rose at a respectable level until the very final stage of the game which was ridiculously hard and I was unable to complete. Overall I thought this was a brilliant game, very enjoyable and different... Read review
