...The first in the 12 book series (also available in 4 trilogy books) it follows the story of a boy called Darren Shan and the outcome of a visit to a mysterious freak show called The Cirque Du Freak where he and his friend are awed by a weird looking man called Mr Crepsley (who turns out to be a vampire) and his pet spider, a huge Tarantula which he seems to be able to control. The series is aimed at children aged up to about 14 and the first three books are in preouction to become a feature film (rights bought by Universal Studios). This first book ends and delves straight into the second book so it is advised to buy at least the first three together to avoid disappointment! Read It!... Read review

...The second in the 12 book series (also available in 4 trilogy books) it follows the story of a boy called Darren Shan, in this he is a freshly blooded Half-Vampire and is still becoming accustomed to their ways and still coming round to the fact that he'll never see his family again. He serves as an assistant to the vampire Mr Crepsley and is helping out at the Cirque Du Freak from the first book. The series is aimed at children aged upto about 14 and the first three books are in production to become a feature film (rights bought by Universal Studios). This book ends and delves straight into the third book so it is advised to buy at least the first three together to avoid disappointment! Read It!... Read review

Advantages: Addictive
Disadvantages: Should be longer!

...I read this book a couple of months ago ,i am hooked on the series. I am currently reading bec. Lord Loss is a brilliant book to read wich i recomend because of the twists of the storyline. There is always an unexpected jolt on the next page. This book is unputdownable. It is also original. There are books about aliens, supernatural powers and horror-monsters, but Darren Shan combines all of these and the outcome is of brilliance. It is good for young readers and old. When I finished the book i was eager for more and so the next day i bought Slawter wich is just as good and the author Darren Shan doesn't make the impact fade. I was completely satisfied with this book. I would give more detail if I could but it would most likely spoil the storyline for anyone wanting to read it.... Read review
