Advantages: Cheap, Expandable, Stylish Disadvantages: No firewire port, as time goes on clock speed may be too slow
...to set up in no time at all. They have 3 PCI slots for expandability and future upgrade cards. If installed with one of Apples developed and "stable systems (8.6, 9.0.4 and possibly 9.1) the G3 should be a joy to use. They don't have firewire, but a firewire pci card can be obtained farily cheaply and if you are going to need firewire, you may well want to get a faster computer that can do firewire justice. Advantages: Wonderful when running well Disadvantages: doesn't run well for very long.
...I purchased a powermac G4/400MZ/128MB/10GB/250MB ZIP DRIVE/OS9 in June and I have had a great deal of trouble with it. Constant crashes, sometimes even freezes on startup with extensions off! It's all the more frustrating when you glimpse how good the G4 can be when running well. I have had USB problems causing false freezes and some days it is just crash, crash, crash for no reason I have been able to fathom (and I have tried everything that everyone has suggested.)
