Advantages: Great Speed and Reliability Disadvantages: Could do with more memory
...The Western Digital Raptor is a phenominal harddrive. It runs at 10,000 rpm(compared to the average of 7,500 rpm) which makes for a very fast harddrive. It is a Serial ATA disk rather than an IDE disk which makes for not only faster speed(150 mbps) but less cable clutter thus making a more practical harddrive for PC builders and the less experienced PC user This product is at the peak of technology it is not just faster and more efficient than all of the other HDDs it excels their levels in every aspect by far. It also comes with a five year warranty, and as such is the ultimate harddrive. I would recommend this harddrive to PC users of all kinds....

Speed Show! Review ofWestern Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150 GBby

Advantages: The fastest available,16 MB buffer, 4.6 ms seek time, 10000 rpm. Disadvantages: Very expensive, Little capacity
...had a 16 MB data buffer which aids in lower read/write times (versus 8 MB on the 74 GB Raptors). The 150 GB Raptor is slightly quieter than the 74 or 36GB Raptor versions. With my mediocre equipment, I measured an output of 39 dB during read times for the 150 Gb version versus 42 dB for the 74 GB Raptor. Not only is the drive a bit quieter but it is also cooler thanks to better heatfin design and perhaps the 4 physical read/write heads. I measured only 37 degrees celcius on both drives versus 39 C on my older 74 GB Raptors.
This new Raptor also supports almost all of the innovations of the new SATA II standard, including Native Command Queing (NCQ). NCQ is basically a mathematical algorithm that prioritizes the drive's read heads to pick up data from the platters depending upon physical closeness versus the serial functions of older SATA...

Advantages: Style, Sleek Disadvantages: Heavy, Poor TV Turner
...This is the new Sony VAIO RA204 is the ultimate in cutting edge design and superior performance. I personally love to shape and design of the computer, as it is very sleek and modern.
The Specs
RAM:
1 GB (installed) / 2 GB (max) - DDR SDRAM - 400 MHz - PC3200
This is a lot of ram but does come in handy when using big files on your computer such as playing big long movies.
Audio Output:
Sound card - 5.1 channel surround.
Nice big sound card very useful for audio editing like music voids and other audio files.
HardDrive:
1 x 400 GB - standard - Serial ATA-150
Bit to big harddrive for me I only use about 180GB of it. But again very useful for heavy video files and big games such as The Sims 2.
Video Input:
TV tuner
This is very useful because I don’t need a separate TV. This particular TV tuner is of poor quality though.
Overall...
