Well, I finally took the plunge and got hold of a PS2 and then learned how much the memory cards actually cost.
Needless to say I was caught off balance, especially as the games I enjoy the most are the ones that really NEED a memory card (Resident Evil, Metal Gear etc). So it was, on a visit to HMV I saw Datel's 'Mega Memory16' card. 16 meg rather than 8, for only a couple of quid more. Sure, it looked like you needed to perform a disk boot on it, but for what was on offer......
So, I thought, what the heck. I shelled out for the card and took it home, eager to get a proper game of 'Code Veronica' in.
Oh was I disappointed.
I took the card home, read through the instructions and gave it a go. The disk booted up ok, but it wouldn't acknowledge the presence of the card in the slot. I switched off, replaced it ...
